The Khazar Kingdom: A Place Where Christian Preterist and Islamic Fundamentalist Bond

The Khazar doctrine is one of the main “go to” stories that most all anti-Semites (including the secular ones) turn to when attempting to discredit the Jewishness of legitimate Jews. Without the Khazar doctrine Christian replacement theologists and Islamic fundamentalist (Islamic replacement theologists) would have a very difficult time supporting their replacement theology.

The Christian replacement theologists hold to the belief that the Christians have "replaced" the Jewish people and nation as God's Chosen People (see Galatians 6:12-16) and the Islamic replacement theologists hold to the belief that Muslims have "replaced" the Jewish people based upon their Koran (see Koran 3:110).

It goes without mentioning that if the real biblical Jews (the offspring of Isaac) are still among us, then that leaves open the great possibility that the God of Israel that we read about in the Hebrew Bible may still have an eternal covenant with these genuine Hebrew people. Therefore, in order for the Christian and Islamic replacement theologists to proclaim themselves to be the genuine "Jew replacement" of the original "Chosen People" they must conjure up a demonic doctrine that is a spiritual and non-violent, a sore of “final solution to the Jewish problem” that rids the Jews from the earth via doctrine but without the assistance of gas chambers.
.
The Khazar doctrine goes something like this: “Today’s Jews are not the Jews of the Bible but are Gentiles that converted to Judaism during the 7th century Khazar Empire, and who ended up illegally inhabiting (stealing) the Arab land of Palestine in the last century. Accept for a very minute number (of whom nobody really knows for sure) all biblical Jews lost their identity and have been replaced by the Khazar Gentile Jews. Most all Israeli Jews are Khazar Gentiles and are not from the lineages of Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob.”
.
Besides trying to replace themselves with the offspring of Jacob (Israel) in order to legitimize their replacement religions, Christian and Islamic replacement theologists use the Khazar doctrine to add to their claim that the modern State of Israel is an illegitimate state. The modern State of Israel is more of a spiritual issue than one might think. Israel operates as a “Law of Return” entrance for Jews all over the world. Therefore, seeing that world Jewry gathering and returning into their ancient Jewish homeland is very reminiscent of the Hebrew prophets prophesying of Jews being gathered back to Israel at the end of days (Ezekiel 37:21-28) the Khazar doctrine is offered to the world as an alternative Jew-free doctrine in the hopes of stopping or at least denying such prophecies from being fulfilled.

Fact: The Khazar doctrine was established by the Jew-haters of the world in response of seeing the prophecy of Ezekiel 37:21-28 and others like it, slowly coming into fulfillment reeking devastating to base-foundation of their replacement religion and belief systems.
.
The very fact that both of these Islamic and Christian forces attack Israel in such a way is a sure sign that there is something very spiritual happening with Israel. Christian and Islamic replacement theologists see each other as damnable infidels as the historical Crusades indicate and as their holy books dictate, but each finds great friendship and respect with the other within the Khazar doctrine as they seek in a joined effort to separate the Jews from their holy covenant and eternal promises!

It is easy to find preterist and other Christian replacement theology articles on Islamic web-sites, and Christian preterist books will always (and I do mean always) be in favor of an Arab victory over the State of Israel, whether by war of annihilation or by any other means such as terrorism!
.
The Khazar doctrine, like the blood libels, originated from Crusader-Christianity by which the Islamic fundamentalists have followed suit. One of the ways the Khazar doctrine compliments the blood libels is the fact that it paints the Jewish community as evil impostors to a once holy community. I mean, who else could try and dominate the world through the "Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion" or scheme up a Holocaust in order to get world sympathy for a state in Arab Palestine, but the evil impostors from Khazaria?

If a person can be sold on the Khazar doctrine, then its much easier for that same person to be a Holocaust denier or become a believer in the blood libels and "The Protocol"s as well, as most of them are. This fact alone shows the types of spiritual forces that are behind the Khazar doctrine.
.
There are four main belief systems in the world that are united and work together by both Christian and Islamic replacement theologists under their common goal of destroying the Jewish people and their God-given covenant through indoctrination of blatant antisemitic falsification.
  1. The Blood Libels (from both Christian and Islamic sources).
  2. Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.
  3. Holocaust denying / Holocaust minimizing.
  4. Khazar replacement theology / General replacement theology.
A simple web-search among anti-Semitic web-sites be it Islamic or Christian, will support this fact. Today, the Khazar doctrine is continually being used by all anti-Semitic Israeli-haters (not just the religious ones) to demonize the State of Israel as well as denouncing the fact that the modern Jews are still the chosen people of God.

Allow me to set up at the biblical background before addressing the Khazar Kingdom issue itself: The God of Abraham had promised him that his seed would continue forever and that they would forever be spiritually connected to the land of Canaan (Gen.12:5-7 and Gen. 13:14,15) Just from these two aspects alone, the other two great monotheistic powers of Christianity and Islam has taken up issues with the Jewish people.

Christian preterist and other "replacement" movements within Christianity interpret Abraham’s spiritual heir to be Jesus thereby allowing any believer in the faith (Gentile or not) to be Abraham’s spiritual heir. Since the land of Canaan is connected with the promise to Abraham, the physical land in the Christian mind becomes a “spiritual” land for the believer to inhabit. To these replacement-theology Christians the physical land of which the God of Israel many times calls, "my land" (see Ezekiel 36:5 / Joel 3:2) is no longer a spiritual issue connected to a spiritual promise to the physical offspring of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob-Israel.

Islam on the other hand, teaches that Ishmael (not Isaac) was Abraham’s firstborn, and therefore, the Arab people being the descendants of Ishmael are Abraham’s true heir (see Koran - surah 37:102-112).
.
The Hebrew Bible is very explicit as to whose seed is to be considered Abraham’s heir. Just before Isaac was declared to be the heir to the promised seed of Abraham that would bless all the nations (Gen.21:12) Ishmael was cast out from being the spiritual heir by God’s own mouth (Gen. 21:10,12). After this, Isaac (not Ishmael) was declared to be Abraham’s "only" legitimate heir pertaining to God’s eternal promise to Abraham (Gen. 22:2). This biblical foundation is reinforced later in the Torah that describes Israel (Isaac’s offspring) as God’s own firstborn (Ex. 4:22). Israel is further verified as Abraham’s "only" spiritual heir by all the Hebrew prophets including David (Ps. 105:6-12), Isaiah (Ish. 51:2), Jeremiah (Jer. 31:31-36), and Ezekiel (Ezk. 37:21-28).

It cannot be stressed enough to any Muslim that God never sent any of His holy prophets or priests to their Ishmael peoples - not one single one! All of God’s prophets were assigned to His chosen - the offspring of Isaac. The Ishmaelites were never God’s chosen, nor His firstborn, nor Abraham’s "only" spiritual heir for the blessing of the nations as was his son Isaac!

The only blessing that the Ishmaelite nations were to receive was only through blessing Isaac (Israel) to whom they now through their Islam, curse, oppress, maim, and murder. Like Cain, they wish to be God’s favorite (His chosen) and are willing to murder in the name of their religion for it. Therefore, today and as well as in the past, the Ishmaelite nations seek Israel’s total destruction both physically and spiritually - See Ps. 83: 2-8 / Jer.33:24.

The Khazar doctrine is just another tactic that is used by Islam and Replacement Christianity in an attempt to obtain for themselves the place reserved for Israel alone, which is to be the spiritual priest to the world (Ish.61:6-9). It is almost comical to see how far these Jew-haters will go outside of common sense to undermine God’s covenant with Israel.

For me to defend against this popular doctrine is really counter-productive on two accounts: One, it gives these Jew-haters way too much creditability like that of the Holocaust deniers, and two, it doesn’t do any good whatsoever to place a high dose of reality unto their lap when their minds have been taken over by dark forces to hate God’s chosen people. However, on the other hand good information can help keep these willful spiritual idiots from playing on someone else’s ignorance of Islam and the Hebrew scriptures.
.
When debating these Khazar-proclaimers on the Internet, one of the first questions I like to ask them is: “Where is it not encouraged in the Hebrew Bible for the Khazars and other non-Israelites to join in with the seed of Jacob and Judaism?” This question usually brings silence and a little bit awe in wonder on the part of the Khazar-proclaimer, simply because most of them don’t have any idea as to what the Hebrew Bible states about gentile conversion among the chosen of Israel.

After I start bombarding them with scriptures on this topic, I usually stop hearing from them immediately. This is because the scriptures that I use jerks the carpet out from under the feet of any Khazar-proclaimer. It destroys their whole basic concept and motivation for their doctrine. They have never stopped and considered the fact that the Hebrew Bible and the God of Israel prophesies that the Gentile conversion unto the religion of Jacob will be ten times that of the Jacob's offspring (Zach 8:23) and that such conversions show forth the glory of the God of Israel!

Let’s take a look at some of these Hebrew scriptures while keeping in mind that the Khazar doctrine is based upon the Gentiles replacing the Jews altogether as God's “Israel”. In order to give a better impact of the Hebrew scripture concerning the Khazars, I will change the word “stranger” meaning “alien to Israel or Gentile” to the word Khazar(s).

For YHVH will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the Khazars shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. - Isaiah 14:1

Also the sons of the Khazar, that join themselves to YHVH, to serve him, and to love the name of YHVH, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of My covenant; Even them (the Khazars) will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their (the Khazars‘) burnt offerings and their (the Khazars’) sacrifices shall be accepted upon Mine altar; for Mine house shall be called an House of Prayer for all people. YHVH GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others (the Khazars) to him, beside those (Jews) that are gathered unto him.- Isaiah 56: 6-8

And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you, and to the Khazars that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among you: and they (the Khazars) shall be unto you as born in the country among the children of Israel; they (the Khazars) shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the Khazar sojourneth, there shall ye give him his inheritance, saith YHVH GOD. - Ezekiel 47: 22, 23 (For the Torah foundation of this scripture see Exodus 12:48,49)

Faced with such scriptures it becomes very difficult for the Jew-hating Khazar proclaimers to argue that the Hebrew Bible foresees a taking-over of Israel by the Gentiles, but on the contrary, the Hebrew Bible actually prophesies that many Gentiles (including the Khazar Kingdom) will indeed cleave unto Jacob. And guess what? If there are to be Gentiles that will cleave unto Jacob as the Bible clearly states, then there has to be a physical "Jacob" (seed of Isaac) present for the Gentiles to cleave unto! How about that?

Furthermore, this type of Jacob (chosen people of God) that contains Gentile conversions cleaving unto it, is absolutely no different than the same Jacob containing Gentile conversion cleaving unto it when Moses exited Egypt (Exodus 12:38,48). Again, how about that O ye willfully-blind, willfully-ignorant, antisemitic Khazar-proclaimers?
.
It is quite ignorant to believe that an empire that reigned for only two centuries during the Middle Ages could somehow replace a entire nation that was 2500 years in the making before the Khazar Empire ever existed. The Khazar proclaimers would have a better chance in suggesting that the Gentiles of Persia during the time of Esther replaced the much earlier, lesser-established, and less-populated Israelite nation (Esther 8:17) than trying to replace the entire Israelite nation with a Khazar Empire that came into being many centuries later. Also, it would be easier to reason (although still impossible) that the high conversion rate among the first century Roman Empire (10%) replaced the entire Israelite nation Israel.
.
But these seemingly easier theories are not used in their doctrine simply because they would not benefit the Khazar proclaimer's doctrine into what they want to achieve. The Christian preterists need the "true Jews" around at least up until the time of Jesus in order to fulfill Jewish prophecy that their Christendom is based upon. In other words, if the true Jews had of "Khazared out" before the time of Jesus, then Jesus wouldn't have a claim as the "Jewish" Messiah to physical Israel!

The Muslims on the other hand need the true Jews around up until the seventh century so Muhammad won’t look like a complete fool stating all of the nasty things that he stated about the Jews living in Arabia during his lifetime (chapters 5 and 17 of the Koran are largely devoted towards the Jews).

I like to joke that it was "the Khazars" that Allah turned into pigs and apes (Koran 5:59,60 / Koran 7:166) instead of the real true Jews! Also, in the last days the trees will cry out: "There is a 'Khazari' hiding me, come and kill him" (see hadith: Muslim book 41 number 6985).1
.
Since it’s the "true seed of Jacob" Jews (especially the ones now living in Israel) who are the spiritual target, then a replacement doctrine is needed by the replacement theologists that somehow places converted Gentiles (the Khazar Kingdom) who lived north of the Caspian and Black Seas to replace Jewish communities living as far away as Spain, Morocco, Egypt, and Israel. Go figure.

Here are a few Khazar-doctrine killing facts:
A. The two main dialects of Hebrew that Jews speak today (Ashkenazi and Sephardim) are in no way connected to Khazar Empire.
B. Even Polish Jews who migrated from the west (not from the east) have no Khazaria origin.
C. Most Ashkenazi Jewry has Germanic surnames and customs, not Khazar ones!
D. There has been no Jewish language to come out of Khazaria as there has been in Germany (Yiddish) and in Spain (Ladino).
E. DNA test show that Ashkenazi Jews are more directly related to Sephardi Jews (Jews of the Middle East) than the European peoples.2
F. There were already Jews living in Khazaria before the Khazar Empire was ever established.

So what happened to the Khazar converted Jews? The same thing that has happened to all the ones that converted to Judaism centuries before the Khazar Empire. True Israel replaced them, and not the other way around!

If King David (Israel’s most lustrous king with whom the messiah is compared, (see Ezekiel 37: 24 / Jeremiah 33: 26) can have a Gentile grandmother named Ruth, then there is no problem with any Khazar conversion, as one researcher wrote:

After the fall of the Khazar Empire….Most of East European Jews migrated from the west to the east of the continent, and were not descendants from the Khazar Empire. They were actually a fusion of Balkan-Greek Jews from the Byzantine Empire, Babylonian Jews from the Abbasid Caliphate, Yiddish-speaking Jews from Germany, Sephardic Jews fleeing the Spanish inquisitions, and Khazars. All these groups intermarried over the centuries, so that the Khazar converts disappeared as a distinguishable ethnical entity and their descendants became fully Jewish with Israelite ancestry

What can be spiritually derived from the statement above is that the Khazar kingdom had no eternal covenant with God on its own, but because they joined themselves with the chosen of Israel that does indeed have an eternal covenant, their reward for doing so was that their seed over time would become part of that eternal inheritance of true seed of Jacob. Amazing!

When it comes the great prophecy of Ezekiel 37:21-28 (my favorite scripture) I must ask the Christian Replacement Khazar theologists; “As to which of the two nations did they come out of when they become a believer” (see my open blog letter to Hank Hanegraaff of this blog site). To the Muslims, I must asked, "Why aren't the Ishmaelites, Mecca, or Medina mentioned anywhere in this great end-time prophecy coming from the prophet Ezekiel ("Dhul-Kifl" in Arabic)? For some reason this great prophecy keeps mentioning a Jewish king, ancient Jewish land, and of all things, a Jewish people.

What is doesn’t mention is one word concerning Abraham’s son Ishmael, his offspring, and Mecca or Medina?" "Since Muhammad is supposedly the greatest prophet and Mecca the most spiritual place, why was Ezekiel (Dhul-Kifl) so centered on the Jews, their ancient homeland, and their covenant with God that connects all three of them together in the great end-time events for all the earth to see?"
Like the dew of Hermon that came down on the mountains of Zion; for there YHVH commanded the blessing, life forevermore. - Psalms 133:3

There are many self-supporting Hebrew scriptures that by themselves blow the Khazar (Jew denying) doctrine right out of the water. Here are a couple:
1."But Judah ("Jews" from where the word "Judah" derives) shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation." - Joel 3:20 KJV / Joel 4:20 JPS

2. "And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob (Israel / Jews), saith YHVH. As for me, this is My covenant with them
(Israel / Jews), saith YHVH; My spirit that is upon thee, and My words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy (Israel / Jews) mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed (Israel / Jews), nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed (Israel / Jews), saith YHVH, from henceforth and for ever." - Isaiah 59:20-21

Notes:
1. I'm just guessing, but Islam's Ibn Saud (King Abdul-Aziz bin Rahman Al Saud - the first monarch of Saudi Arabia) might have been difficult to persuade the belief of the Khazar doctrine. In his 1937 statement to British diplomat Harold Dickson Ibn Saud stated the following: "Our hatred for the Jews dates from God's condemnation of them for their persecution and rejection of Isa (Jesus) and their subsequent rejection later of his chosen prophet [Mohammad]. It is beyond our understanding how your government, representing the first Christian power in the world today, can wish to assist and reward these very same Jews who maltreated your Isa (Jesus)."
Source: "The Farhud" by Edwin Black pages 308-309 / His source: Letter to H.R.P. Dickson to George Rendell 388-393

Also, it would appear that Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Zahhar himself has a hard time swallowing the Khazar doctrine even though I'm sure that would be the furthermost thing from his mind due to the Kharzar's doctrine antisemitic purpose. What he did do was link the Jews that lived during Pharaoh's time who lived long before the noted Khazar kingdom, with the Jews of today in a speech that was aired by Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV on November 10th. 2010 stating:
"...Pharaoh the tyrant expelled them because they had shed the blood of the Egyptians, and had conspired with their enemies against them. So [Pharaoh] expelled them, after they lost their religion, after the time of Joseph.
"Was this series [of expulsions] anything new? No....
"The series of expulsions continues to this day...
"there is no place for you among us, and you have no future among the nations of the world. You are headed to annihilation."
See MEMRI site > http://m.memri.org/14499/show/d4a871d8c30c912e73de0777bb57f055&t=20320d97cb30b6845cb6422bedb5dfbe

This is more proof that the Middle East Conflict is not about so-called Palestinian sovereignty or self-governing, but rather it's a continuous battle between the god of the Koran and the God of the Hebrew Bible. In such a spiritual battle made physical in the form of physical warfare, the demon(s) will always show themselves within their lying motive.

2. From "A Little Joy - A Little Oy" (Book -Calendar) © 2009
"
DNA sequences confirm that despite the Diaspora, Jews have retained a genetic identity...most Jewish communities in Europe, North Africa, the Near East, and the Arabian Peninsula are genetically similar...In the history of humankind, only the Jews, while being scattered throughout the world, have retained a genetic identity for more than 100 generations."

I am a Christian and have always believed as Paul said that true Christians -let us get that distinction correct, not people tied to a Christina ethos in name only-are grafted onto Abraham's tree, therefore the concept of replacement theology which underlines a lot of Reform thinking is incorrect.

Keep in mind that any grafting into "Abraham's tree" goes beyond the scope of the Hebrew Bible (see Genesis 15:4 compared with Genesis 35:10,11). However, Abraham's blessing (the blessing to all nations) follow the Christians who believe and support the "natural olive tree" - Romans 11:24. I do know that the Christians who do support Israel seem to be the ones more spirtually grounded and take the Ten Commandments more seriously. Imagine that! Thanks for viewing.

God's dealings with Israel ended with the destruction of their temple in 70AD. This was the "end" of the age of the Old Covenant. The jews were invited to the wedding banquet of Messiah, but they rejected him, and therefor God rejected them. Jesus Christ fulfilled the law. Ethnic jews have NO covenant with God outside of Jesus Christ.

I hopping you will continue this discussion after my response. The cause for me writing this blog is precisely people like yourself and others that holds your doctrine.

Your first statement: "God's dealings with Israel ended with the destruction of their temple in 70AD."
My response: How can that be when according to prophecy (in staying with the context of Daniel 9) there are six glorious manifestations that are to occur to directly to Daniel's people (The Jews and not Gentiles) the holy city (Jerusalem) and the holy mountain (the temple mount)after the destruction of the temple (Daniel 9:24-27)?
If you have further questions concerning the 70 weeks of Daniel I have a blog on this subject on my "Judaism-now site.
http://judaism-now.blogspot.com/2008/04/seventy-weeks-of-daniel-from.html

Your second statement: "This was the "end" of the age of the Old Covenant."
My response: "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah - Jeremiah 31:31" Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see one thing in this prophecy pertains to Gentiles, do you? If we go further into this prophecy (Jeremiah 31:31-36)while staying with this non-Gentile context, you will find that the "new covenant" is made to the ones who sinned against God (verses 32 and 34) and not some "spiritual non-seed of Jacob Israel". Further into the non-Gentile text you will find Israel remains God's people (verse 33) and that Israel (still non-Gentile) will remain (as in already was)a nation before God forever (verses 35 and 36).

Your third statement: "The jews were invited to the wedding banquet of Messiah, but they rejected him, and therefor God rejected them."
My response: You believe this on "faith" not upon "proof". During the messianic days no "faith" will be necessary. "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. - Isaiah 11:9" Maybe if Jesus would have done more of the things that the messiah is suppose to do like build the third and final temple, restore all Israel to righteousness, while gathering all the exiles back to the land of their forefathers (Ezekiel 37:22-28) the Jewish nation would have believed in him more, you think?

Your forth statement: "Jesus Christ fulfilled the law."
My response: Does that one can forget about and not obeying The Ten Commandments? I don't recall "loving God with all your heart and your brother as yourself" as being part of the Ten Commandments? Is the practice of homosexuality (again not part of the big Ten) still forbidden? And if it is, is it "forbidden" under "grace" or "law"? Now lets look at your statement with regards as if the Law was ever to be fulfilled to Israel:
"And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, YE SHALL OBSERVE TO DO FOR EVERMORE;and ye shall not fear other gods. And the covenant that I have made with you YE SHALL NOT FORGET; neither shall ye fear other gods. -II Kings 17:37-38"

Your fourth statement: "Ethnic jews have NO covenant with God outside of Jesus Christ."
My response: As in your prior statement that scripture don't support, neither does this one: "He hath remembered his COVENANT FOR EVER, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and TO ISRAEL FOR AN EVERLASTING COVENANT - Psalms 105: 8-10"

Sorry, all your statements are non-biblical and require faith instead of reality that the Gentile and atheist Mark Twain was able to see. Maybe this is why the Gentile come running to the Jews at the End of Days for the true knowledge of God? Jeremiah 16:19 / Zachariah 8:23

How is it you Jews hate replacement theology? Did Jacob not deceive his father in his blessing? Did Jacob not anger his father and brother with this replacement? Is sacrificial atonement a replacement for the sins of one nation upon a goat.? Did David not replace the Saul dynasty of royal lineage. Where you not given the title a holy nation of priests and yet only the Levites were priests. Hey! if you hate replacement theology why not tell Hashem who never authorized that replacement for His Holy name. Lets reason with the Jewish prophet speaking the Word of YHWH. Hosea 1:8 ff
8After she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, Gomer conceived and gave birth to a son. 9And the LORD said, “Name him Lo-ammi, for you are not My people, and I am not your God. 10Yet the number of the Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or counted. And it will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’…
God replace you over and over again consider the curses of Moses Deuteronomy 28
36 The Lord will drive you and the king you set over you to a nation unknown to you or your ancestors. There you will worship other gods, gods of wood and stone. 37 You will become a thing of horror, a byword and an object of ridicule among all the peoples where the Lord will drive you.
So God prescribed antisemitism and He call on replacement theology to demonstrate your stiffening's.
Authur Koestler and the Encyclopedia Judaic say Khazar Ashkenazi are recognized as fact. Historical revisionist replacement theology will not do anymore. John Hercanus disobeyed God and force Edom to become Jews and so you are a perverted profane race you were even called goy in the Old Covenant Era. Having lost you temple and geneologies you are proven to be a multi ethnic spawn. Black Jews and white ones and Spanish ones are all cosmo in looks so lets not be in denial. Even Ezra and Nehimiah wrestles after just 70 years to purify a seperate priesthood who had so goyified themselves as to marry the best of Goy shishkas. My what sexy goy woman can do to the Jewish lustful men. Your whole religion is a replacement theology so stop wailing at the fort wall and accept you are just an angry goy.

Some heavy grounding there and enjoyed your turn of phrase.

The long and the short of it is that one can be a Christian Jew, which is precisely what Christ was and so the right of passage is not necessarily set in stone by simply being Jewish full stop.

What Wayne does not consider is that the Christian Jews could have it right and the non-Christian Jews have it wrong, I.e. it is not a case of Jews changing their identity or their religion, but a case of Judaism accepting whoever is the accurately identified Saviour. Thousands of Jews accepted Christ as The Saviour, the twelve Apostles first and foremost among them.

Apologies, but my reference to “Wayne” is an error. I meant to refer to Joe Whitehead when speaking of not considering that Christian Jews might have it right.

jewishawareness.org has an article headlined
" Is 1948 the Promised Return?"
Feb 17, 2012
by Chris Eisbrenner , this article says

"The Christian world was filled with awe and excitement when the United Nations granted the Jewish people rights to a home land in Israel in 1948 after nearly nineteen hundred years of Jewish dispersion outside the land. In the years following 1948, Christian support for the return of Israel to her land as being a direct fulfillment of Bible prophecy was a popular position in the Christian world. But time drug on since 1948 to fifty years, then sixty years, and theological support for the 1948 return has waned in recent years. What many thought to be a significant event in the prophetic calendar has turned to indecisiveness and skepticism, if not abandoned altogether by many in the evangelical world. Even in traditional dispensational circles, the response often given is, “Israel today may or may not be significant, we simply don’t know.” This reluctance to support Israel in the land today comes from a fear of being wrong or lumped in with the “date-setter” crowd if Israel should fall. What if the Arab world should succeed in destroying the current nation of Israel? How would that make them look if they held a position that the 1948 return was the actual biblical and promised return?

The Babylonian Captivity and Return

When asking ourselves if we should stand by the 1948 return as the promised biblical return, it is necessary to first examine the Babylonian captivity and return. Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 are the main passages on the blessings and cursings of the Mosaic Law. The cursings promised to the Jewish people if they disobeyed came in five increasing levels ( level one, vs. 14-17; level two, vs. 18-20; level three, vs. 21-23; level four, vs. 24-27) to get their attention, and the final level of cursing was to be kicked out of the land (vs. 28-33). Twice Israel has made it to the level five judgments in their history. The first time was in 586 BC through the Babylonian captivity where they were kicked out of the land for 70 years, and the second was by Rome in 70 AD where they were kicked out for 1878 years before their return in 1948."

Anonymous said...

The article continues
"The return of the Jewish people from the Babylonian captivity took place in three phases. The first came shortly after the Persian conquest of Babylon in 538 BC when Cyrus (king of Persia) decreed that the Jews could return to their homeland. The first wave of Jews, 50,000 in number, made it back to Jerusalem in 536 BC (Ezra 1-2) led by Zerubbabel. The second came 77 years later in the seventh year of Artaxerxes Longimanus in 459-458 BC (Ezra 7-8) led by Ezra when 5,000 returned. The third and final phase came 13 years after the second, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes Longimanus in 445-444 BC (Nehemiah 2), led by Nehemiah. However, the Bible doesn’t say exactly how many returned in that phase.

All together it can be said that about 60,000 Jews returned over a 92 year period in three phases. It is important to see that the first return happened in phases because many anti-Israel theologians today fail to recognize that the Bible talks about the latter return happening in phases as well. The Scriptures teach that the Jewish people would be gathered back to their land in the last days in two phases: first in unbelief in preparation for judgment and tribulation, and the second phase for the purpose of national salvation and restoration at the second coming of Christ.

The Biblical Basis for the 1948 Return

There are two main scriptures that speak of the Jewish return in the last days, the first being Isaiah 11:11-12. This passage is speaking of the second coming of Christ and the setting up of the millennial kingdom. Isaiah says in verse 11, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people.” To understand what Isaiah meant by “second time,” one has to ask, when was the first time? As has already been mentioned, the only other return from being kicked out of the land was after the Babylonian captivity, so that has to have been the first time. What Isaiah 11 is speaking of is a second return that will be worldwide and that will take place at the second coming of Christ. What is missed by the anti-Israel theologians is that this latter return happens in phases. Isaiah 11 is actually speaking about the climax or final phase of the second return, a return that started in 1948. This biblical understanding makes 1948 very significant and does not deny the obvious return of over six million Jews that has been taking place before our eyes over the last 64 years."

"The second main scripture that speaks of the Jewish return in the last days is Ezekiel 37:1-14. God brings Ezekiel to a valley with dry bones and tells him to prophesy over the bones that they may live. As Ezekiel prophesies, the bones come together and flesh and skin are restored to them, but verse 8 tells us that there was no breath in them. “Breath” is the same Hebrew word as “spirit” and it implies that the corpses came together, but they had no spiritual life in them. The bones being restored without life are a picture of Israel today back in her land as a secular people, but without spiritual life since the nation still does not believe in Jesus as their Messiah.

What is interesting about this passage is that God brought the bones together with flesh, but purposely left them breathless. God then told Ezekiel to prophesy a second time, but this time to the breath (or spirit). God commands Ezekiel to tell the breath to enter the newly formed fleshly corpses to give them life (v. 9). Further, God says in verse 12, after He has defined these corpses as the whole house of Israel, that He would bring them into the land (corresponding to Ezekiel’s first prophecy). Then in verse 14 He tells the dead corpses, “I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live” (corresponding to Ezekiel’s second prophecy). Clearly there are two prophecies to Israel. One to go into the land without the Spirit in unbelief (the 1948 return), and the second to go into the land with the Spirit in belief (the Isaiah 11:11 return at the second coming of Christ).

The First and Second Phase

Isaiah 11 established that there would be a second return, and that it would be from the whole earth. Ezekiel 37 revealed that it would be in two stages, first in unbelief and second in belief. If these passages are taken literally then the world should see re-gathering of Jewish people to their land in unbelief as the end of this age grows near. This is exactly what the world has witnessed since 1948. But do the scriptures tell when and why the bones must first be re-gathered in unbelief?

Zephaniah chapter one describes some of the details of the “Day of the Lord”, which is a very common Old Testament term that almost always stands for the future tribulation period and millennium. Zephaniah 2:1-2 describes a call to the nation of Israel to gather together: “Gather yourselves together…O undesirable nation…Before the day of the LORD’s anger comes upon you!” This re-gathering takes place while the people are undesirable (or better, ignorant and unrepentant), so this re-gathering has to be in unbelief since the nation is not yet aware or repentant of their sins. Verse two warns Israel that the Lord’s fierce anger is coming and this re-gathering will be “Before the day of the Lord’s anger” (a reference to the future tribulation). "

"Daniel 9:27 tells us that “he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week.” A study of Bible prophecy reveals that this passage is speaking about the anti-Christ and how he will make a treaty with Israel in the future which starts the seven year Tribulation period. In order for the anti-Christ to sign a treaty with Israel, there has to be an Israel in place, which did not happen until 1948.

Zephaniah and Daniel reveal a Jewish re-gathering while they are in unbelief (undesirable, unrepentant nation), before the day of the Lord (the tribulation), and before the anti-Christ signs a treaty with Israel. These passages all reveal necessary aspects of the timing of the return....

"The Importance of the 1948 Return

Not only are the scriptures filled with the common theme of a return of Jewish people to the land of Israel in the last days, but in 1948 it became a reality and since then we have seen millions of Jews return to the land. For the Christian, this ought to bring excitement and hope. For we know that the anti-Christ cannot rise to sign a treaty with Israel if there is no nation of Israel. So when the nation of Israel was restored in 1948 we can be assured that God is setting the stage for the prophetic events of the Tribulation and we know that the Rapture must be near. Thus Israel being in the land today should indeed give every Christian a great hope, something to rejoice about, and a reason to stand by Israel in these last days as we await the return of Jesus, our great God and Savior. There should be no doubt in the evangelical Christian world today that Israel in the land since 1948 is truly a direct fulfillment of Bible prophecy!" The Full article is online

"Two Thirds of the Jews Killed … Past or Future?" This article says

"When Israel reacted justifiably to the imminent threat of attack by Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq with a preemptive military strike against those enemies on June 5th, 1967, I remember thinking that the Jews couldn’t possibly win another war against these formidable Islamic nations. That it would be a devastating defeat for the Jews absent any miracles that produced an Against All Odds victory in their 1948-1949 War of Independence.

I’m sure many others felt the same way, even though American military experts believed that Israel might accomplish their objectives in 7-10 days because the IDF seized the element of surprise by landing the first blow. It seemed that the whole world was watching what many thought would be a war that could conceivably spell the end of the only Jewish nation on earth, a country that hadn’t yet reached its 20th birthday.

As a 20-year old student working my way through college, I vividly recall the incessant news updates while trying to concentrate on my job in the downtown precinct of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department (my employer at the time). What with my classes, homework, and sleeping, I had very little time off-duty to keep track of the media updates. There were no televisions in the police precincts, but there were radios. I worked the graveyard shift (11PM-7AM, which often included weekends).

Even during this shift the Precinct Captain and Desk Sergeant kept their radios tuned to the periodic reports of the astonishing rate and precision at which Israel was dismantling her foes. I suppose their interest in the outcome had much to do with observing a modern-day epic version of David and Goliath unfolding. Although my passion for end-times Biblical prophecy in general and Israel in particular wouldn’t deepen for another decade, I, too, was completely absorbed in the almost hourly media announcements pouring in from the Middle East.

One, two, three, four days went by. With each passing day, it was becoming more and more evident that the Israelis were routing the much larger Arab military force. It was phenomenal that Israel achieved air superiority after its first day assault on the Egyptian Air Force. It was Against All Odds all over again; but this time it became readily apparent that Israel’s very survival would not be in jeopardy. Within three or four days, the only question was just how soon and how soundly the Arabs would be defeated."

"Then on June 10th the broadcast was heard all over the Police Station, indeed, the entire world: The Arabs had surrendered.

In just six days Israel had achieved a victory that would go down in the annals of warfare as one of the greatest (if not greatest) military feats of all time. She had defeated four Arab nations in a three-front battle … Syria to the north, Jordan and Iraq to the east, and Egypt to the south.

Absolutely amazing! Not just the unthinkable short duration of the war, but also the casualty count reflected the decisiveness of Israel’s victory. An estimated 20,000 Arab combatants were killed with less than 1,000 Israeli deaths.

Because of his contributions to the victory, IDF Chief of General Staff Yitzhak Rabin would be given the honor of naming the war. Such names as “War of Daring” and “War of Salvation” were suggested. But in deference to the six days of creation and the resounding rout of Israel’s enemies in the same number of days, he chose the less ostentatious designation of Six-Day War. Later Rabin would become Israel’s Prime Minister.

Just six years later, on October 6th, 1973 the Arabs would strike first on none other than Israel’s holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur. That war lasted only three weeks, but it was much tougher for Israel to emerge victorious. In fact, there were some tenuous times when Israel could have lost that war, and Israeli casualties were much higher than in the Six-Day War. However, since then, no multi-national Arab coalition has dared launch a military campaign against Israel. Instead, they have resorted to terrorism, mortar launchings, propaganda, and BDS tactics."

"World-Wide Focus on Israel

Both of these wars stirred my burgeoning interest in Israel and how she fit into end-times Biblical prophecy. To some extent or another, the entire world began to pay attention to the Middle East in general and Israel in particular. Yet it wasn’t until a decade later that my awareness of Israel’s dynamic entrance and progression on the world-stage and my focus on Biblical prophecy accelerated with a great deal of intensity. Permit me to quote the second paragraph of the first page in my book, Out of the Abyss, published in 2011.

Let’s begin with a television documentary—some thirty-five hour-long episodes—first aired in the late 1970s. At the time, I was in my early thirties. Historian Stephen Ambrose and Actor Sir Laurence Olivier narrated these programs under the title: The World at War. The programs included a ton of World War II film footage never shown before. The programs were well written, skillfully narrated, and exceptionally revealing. But it was the last six segments that captivated me … six hour-long programs with gut wrenching film of the round-up, internment, torture, and death of Jews in sadistic Nazi concentration camps. These images were powerfully and indelibly imprinted on my mind and heart.

Then a couple of pages later, I wrote:

Both astonished and distressed at the sheer magnitude of the Holocaust, I wondered how something like this could happen … I had to know. From that time forward I decided to learn more about Israel, the Jews, and prophecy … Something occurred to me that I’m sure others had already recognized; as horrible as the Holocaust had been, would Israel otherwise have been restored as a nation?

1321225_f520

Despite the horrendous loss of Jewish life in Nazi concentration camps and throughout Europe during World War II, it’s highly unlikely the Jewish people would have been revived as a nation without this colossal catastrophe. Most assuredly, not that quickly. In just three years after this incredibly devastating war, Israel was reborn as a sovereign nation on this earth.

Never again, said Jews all over the world. They must have their own sanctuary with definable defensible borders, with self-governing rights of citizenship and land ownership, with the inherent freedom and potential privileges of a democratic nation, and with the sovereign capacity to protect themselves. Though many peoples and nations still seek Israel’s destruction, never again will the Jews be indefensibly at the mercy of her enemies. And for once—through the United Nations—some of the world agreed with them. So much so that the UN Resolution in November, 1947 extended sovereign states’ rights to the Jews. Just seven months later, the world witnessed the rebirth of the State of Israel."

"Then in the astonishing Six-Day War Israel reclaimed Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, West Bank of the Jordan River, Gaza Strip, and the Sinai Peninsula, all of which have totally or partially been given back to the Arabs, excepting the Golan Heights.

Dozens of Bible prophecies speak of the last day’s return of Jews to Israel from global exile, with the Divine guarantee that never again would Jews be stripped of or away from their Promised Land. Despite the perilous end-times turmoil that will engulf the entire earth during the Great Tribulation, including Israel—which is referred to as Jacob’s troubles—there is no indication in Scripture that the Jews will suffer the catastrophic casualties at the hands of Gentile nations that started with the Assyrian conquest of Israel in 722 BC and the Babylonian overthrow of Judah in 586 BC. Then the even more devastating defeat of Israel by the Romans in 70 AD and their ensuing global Diaspora, culminating in the unfathomable genocidal massacre of some six million Jews during the Holocaust.

th

Except that is, for one passage. It is a portion of Scripture that has perplexed and troubled me for some time.

Bible prophecy, particularly those involving last day’s warnings, can be either terrifying or touching, horrifying or heartening; depending mostly on whether you are an unbeliever or believer, respectively. Even the believer can be alarmed at the enormity of, for example, death and destruction by the forces of evil in the end times but also by the wrath of God poured out on a very wicked world. As Christians, we need not be afraid of a world spinning out of control before the soon-to-come Rapture, then tilting on an apocalyptic axis and falling into the Abyss during the Tribulation. But we certainly should be motivationally moved by the apocalyptic anxiety that those left behind will experience, particularly by the tribulation saints and Jews; some of whom will be one and the same and both of whom will be relentlessly persecuted."

"The Troubling Prophecy of One of My Favorite Prophets, Zechariah

The first part of the passage is one of those mind-numbing, gut-wrenching things to even think about, let alone fully grasp. I have mentally, emotionally, and spiritually agonized over the massive loss of life that this prophecy foretold for God’s chosen people. Here it is:

“Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, the man who is my partner, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Strike down the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs. Two-thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die, says the Lord. But one-third will be left in the land. I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, These are my people, and they will say, The Lord is our God” (Zechariah 13:7-9).

Zechariah wrote Chapters 1-8 around 520 BC after a remnant of Jews had returned to Israel from Babylon and Persia, then Chapters 9-14 about 480 BC. With the first eight chapters written primarily about rebuilding the Temple, but still containing several prophetic visions; some of them futuristic and others applying to God’s sovereign interaction with Israel and Gentile nations throughout the course of history.

Chapters 9 through 14 pertain almost exclusively to the final restoration of Israel during the end-times … predictions still awaiting fulfillment. However, there are three exceptions which were prophetically future tense to Zechariah and the Jews of that time, but historically have already come to pass. Each of these exceptions pertain to Messiah, the Good Shepherd, who would be betrayed for the paltry sum of thirty pieces of silver—the cost of a slave—as portrayed in Zechariah 11:7-13. That is precisely what transpired when Judas betrayed Jesus to the religious leaders as recorded in the Gospels.

A second prophecy is the famous announcement that nearly every believer recognizes; the fulfillment of which occurred when thousands proclaimed Jesus as the Messiah upon his triumphant entrance into Jerusalem riding on a donkey’s colt (Zechariah 9:9)."

"The third prophecy in these final chapters of Zechariah that has already come to pass is found in the passage we just read, beginning with, Strike down the shepherd (Zechariah 13:7b). This is an obvious reference to Messiah’s (Jesus) death on the cross. The verse goes on to say, “…and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs.”

Jesus referred to the scattering of the sheep as what his disciples would do when he was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:31); but Zechariah’s prophecy was broader in scope than that. Why? Because Jesus also denoted the Jews as the (lost) sheep of Israel. Moreover, the next line in Zechariah 13:7 reads, “and I will turn against the lambs.” Although the Lord temporarily withdrew his protection from Israel, he never turned against his disciples or those who would become believers in Christ … Christians. Both sheep and lambs are frequently used as a metaphorical analogy to God’s chosen people, the Jews. This broader application of the sheep and lambs to Israel will be evident as we continue.

The scattering of the sheep also took place when the Romans conquered Israel and destroyed much of Jerusalem including complete demolition of the rebuilt Temple in 70 AD. The scattering and the turning against the lambs signified God’s withdrawal of his protection from his chosen people for rejecting their Messiah who established the New Covenant with the greatest price ever paid … his very blood, the life of the Son of God. The Great Diaspora ensued in which millions of Jews were exiled to many nations. With, however, the greater majority of the Jewish population settling in countries of today’s Europe over hundreds of years. Also, a sizeable number ended up in Russia. Not until the birth of the United States and later the horrendous Holocaust, would more Jews live in America than anywhere else in the world. Even that has now changed, with the greatest concentration of Jews in Israel, itself … 6.3 million."

"According to reliable census, the historical world-wide population of Jews reached its peak in 1939, with a total of 16,728,000. Of that figure, approximately 8,800,000 million resided in European countries, a little over 50 per cent. Today’s Jewish global population is about 13,900,000.

Whether positive or negative or neutral, Scripture is absolutely amazing in its detail, both historically and prophetically … including people, genealogies, times, events, nations, and numbers. See, for example, the Eye of Prophecy article entitled, The Shocking Statistics of the Great Tribulation, posted 6-6-15.

In the passage quoted earlier from Zechariah 13:7-13, it is a number (fraction) that distressed me for many years. In the context of the horrible tragedy of the Holocaust in which six million Jews were murdered, I simply couldn’t come to terms with Zechariah 13:8, which reads: “Two thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die, says the Lord. But one-third will be left in the land.”

Each time I read this passage, the figures and the repercussions stunned me … during the last days Tribulation, two-thirds of Jews would be killed. On more than one occasion I recall shedding some tears. “Please, Lord,” I pleaded. “Is there any way that you would prevent this from happening?” And, yet, what God says will happen, happens. The Word that he gives to his prophets always comes to pass.

I had read volumes about the sickening Holocaust. I had seen countless hours of film footage depicting the shocking scenes of death by starving, shooting, hanging, and gassing European Jews. But I needed to know what had happened and why. As indicated earlier in this article, it was principally the Holocaust that expanded my interest in Biblical prophecy. And now, I simply couldn’t imagine that God’s chosen people must go through yet another catastrophic carnage that would kill two-thirds of them. Wasn’t the Holocaust enough?

“But Lord,” I said. “That’s too many. That would be four million dead in Israel alone. Please help me to understand why. Is there any other way to see this?” Yet I resigned to what Scripture was saying and accepted that one-third would surely survive.

And, then, recently it happened! The Lord took off the shades from my eye of prophecy (a self-directed pun), and made me see more clearly. There is another (accurate) explanation to these seven verses in Zechariah Chapter 13!

There are four basic mistakes that even the most ardent, well-meaning students of Scripture sometimes make, especially regarding prophecy. They fail to:

Thoroughly scrutinize the context of the passage.
Compare the passage to as many (if not all) other similar passages on that subject.
Evaluate and relate the passage to history or to contemporary times, when obviously necessary.
Fit the prophetic event into Scripture. Instead they squeeze a particular prophetic passage/subject of Scripture or a historical event into a presupposition or theory or premature conclusion.
The more difficult the passage, the more scrupulous we need to be in our examination and application of what the Bible is telling us. Sometimes that is equally, if not more, true when the verses seem to be so very evident to us"

"Regarding this passage in question, I was guilty of some of these errors; as has been virtually every other Bible commentator I’ve read or heard. Which is especially ironic; because particularly for the past ten years or so, The Lord has impressed on me the need to meticulously study and apply Biblical prophecy by adhering to these Bible teaching principles. It goes with the gift of teaching graciously given to me by the Lord. The actual sharing with others verbally and/or in written form constitutes only about 50% of what a teacher does. Before that can successfully be done, there must be the capacity to make comparisons, contrasts, correlations, and connections that most people don’t make or don’t want to make, i.e. that’s what teachers are for! Really effective teachers (should) do more than just present facts. They should provide relevant and accurate commentary. In involves not just investigative reporting, but also editorial journalism.

th

Sometimes, however, it’s more than just an interpretational mistake. It is the Holy Spirit’s illumination by showing us something we had missed or overlooked even after many readings of a specific passage. Or, the Lord will graciously clarify or correct an incorrect or incomplete understanding of a particular passage.

So What Happened? … The Accurate Application

Immediately after Zechariah 13:7 where we read that the Shepherd (Messiah) is killed and the sheep (Jews) are scattered, we read in verse eight: “Two-thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die…” In the Complete Jewish Bible, the wording is, “In time, throughout that land, two-thirds of those in it will be destroyed.” This translation is effectively saying the same thing, but gives us a more definitive grasp of precisely what land Zechariah is referencing.

For years I assumed or presumed that the “land” was Israel, which is a fairly reasonable application or conclusion. Why? Because (nearly) all of the final six chapters of Zechariah refer to the restoration of the Jews to and in Israel. For example: “On that day the Lord their God will rescue his people, just as a shepherd rescues the sheep. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown” (Zechariah 9:16, italics for emphasis)."

& continues
"The above referenced italicized phrase on that day, is used many times in these final chapters … sixteen times from Zechariah Chapter 12 through 14 alone. That phrase is synonymous with The Day of the Lord employed by other Old Testament prophets. On that day refers to the end-times final restoration of Israel, which began when Israel was miraculously reborn as a nation in 1948; but which will exponentially intensify at the outset of the Millennium. As explained throughout other Eye of Prophecy articles, the Day of the Lord begins with the Rapture of the Church, followed very soon by the Seven-Year treaty between Antichrist and Israel, the triumphant return of Christ at the end of the Tribulation, then the Millennial Reign of Messiah Jesus. In the specific passage we’re examining (Chapter 13), the phrase on that day is used twice in the opening verses one through six.

But at verse seven the scene abruptly shifts to another prophecy that, as we’ve already seen, applies to the death of Messiah and scattering exile of God’s chosen people to the land or throughout that land. Just like the interlude or parenthetical scene of Messiah being sold for thirty pieces of silver (Zechariah 11) or majestic entrance into Jerusalem (Chapter 9), these prophecies have already been fulfilled. They are separate and distinct from the remaining passages that apply exclusively to the last days. Which is another feature that I missed until recently. Actually, I hadn’t missed the fact of the Shepherd being betrayed and that same Shepherd (Messiah Jesus) being killed and the sheep being scattered clearly had already taken place.

What I missed was the fact that the passage of Zechariah 13:7-9 is distinctly separate from verses one through six of Chapter 13 and all of the other (on that day) end-times content of Chapters 9-14, except for Messiah’s procession into Jerusalem and his subsequent betrayal. However, Verses 7, 8, & 9 of Chapter 13 cannot be separated, one from the other. They are all an integral part of a succession of three events: Messiah’s death, the sheep scattered, and two-thirds of them killed … all of which have already taken place!

Here’s how and why:

To where were the sheep scattered and from where would two-thirds of them be cut off and die? Answer: They were scattered to the land or that land. Historically what is that land? Answer: First and foremost and predominately to the European Continent.

Not to or in Israel? They were exiled from Israel in 70 AD not to Israel. And the two-thirds who would be killed would die in the lands to which they were exiled. Not in Israel.

Do you see where we’re heading with this? Yes? No? Either way, let’s continue with more proof, scripturally, historically, and deductively to demonstrate that ALL of the events of Zechariah 13:7-9 have already taken place. Or with regard to Verse 9, has begun and will peak during the Day of the Lord."

"More Evidence and Evaluation

For sure, I had previously considered that the two-thirds of Jews killed in this passage were those who died during the Holocaust. In fact, as terrible as the Holocaust was, I had hoped that the passage was referring to that tragic event. Meaning that Israel wouldn’t have to go through another massive bloodbath during the Tribulation. But, in addition to the mistaken notion that the land is Israel instead of the (now) obvious correlation that the land is where the Jews were scattered, my calculations based on the Holocaust were also wrong.

In trying to somehow apply the passage to what had already taken place during World War II, I used the correct figure of six million Jews killed during the Holocaust; however, I inaccurately applied that figure to the total number of Jews in the world just before World War II began. When that’s done, we get the figure of 35% of Jews killed during the Holocaust. Which is mathematically correct, but it is not anywhere close to the two-thirds killed as predicted by Zechariah. Actually, it’s closer to the one-third remnant who would survive.

BUT, let’s see what happens when we apply the two-thirds killed to the existing Jewish population in Europe just before Hitler and the Third Reich began their Final Solution of the Jews.

auschwitz-the-nazis-and-the-final-solution1

When we divide the 6 million Jews murdered by Nazi Germany by the 8.8 million European Jews of that time, we get the astounding figure of 68%. Almost exactly TWO-THIRDS! Not only is that far beyond mere coincidence, it is a correlative confirmation of the two-thirds prophesied in Zechariah.

Now then, if someone wants to take issue with the fact that Jews were scattered to nations other than European, particularly Russia; thereby, concluding that the number killed would be logically less than the two-thirds foretold by Zechariah, my response would be, that’s fine.

However, I would also counter that the two-thirds could or should then be expanded to not just the European Holocaust (six million), but to all Jews killed through Russian pogroms, by the Spanish Inquisition, through the Crusades, and other less notable, but nonetheless Anti-Semitic campaigns against the Jews up to the time of Israel’s rebirth as a nation. Obviously it would take a lot of research, if it could actually be done, to establish and compare the approximate number killed to the total number of Jews born during that time frame. Yet, I would still propose a premise or make a prediction that the number killed would be two-thirds of the total Jewish population during those times. Either way, I now see that the accurate application of Zechariah’s two-thirds prophecy has already taken place."

"The overwhelmingly clear evidence of the Bible is that once the Jews returned from exile, they would never again be driven from the land. Their time of physical and spiritual restoration would begin. Though they will undoubtedly suffer many more casualties during the Antichrist’s assault against Israel leading to Armageddon, it will not be anything like the appalling losses suffered during World War II or before.

Which is another reason why I was in denial over what I thought the Bible was clearly stating, i.e. two-thirds of Jews would be killed during the last days (on that day or the Day of the Lord) during the Great Tribulation. I couldn’t bring myself to the point of matching this kind of devastation and death to the fact that the time of Gentile domination over Israel ended in 1967 (Six-Day War), with the beginning of that end of domination taking place when Israel was declared a sovereign state by the United Nations in 1948. A two-thirds loss of life seemed to be an incomprehensible contradiction to the wonderful blessings God would begin to bestow on Israel beginning with the regathering of the Jews from world-wide exile and the rebirth of the Jewish nation.

For example: In the titanic assault of the Gog/Magog nations against Israel as found in Ezekiel 38 & 39 (of which I’ve written about in several Eye of Prophecy articles), God providentially and divinely defeats this Russian and Iranian led coalition with virtually no fighting on the part of Israel. With the obvious inference that Israel will suffer very few casualties during this massive campaign against them.

For sure there will be perilous times for the Jews (for everyone) during the last half of the Tribulation. In fact, the very next (last) chapter in Zechariah tells us what will take place. Note that the passage begins with, “the day of the Lord” which clearly brings the reader back to the last days (Tribulation) period of time.

“Watch, for the day of the Lord is coming when your possessions will be plundered right in front of you! I will gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem. The city will be taken, the houses looted, and the woman raped. Half the population will be taken into captivity, and the rest will be left among the ruins of the city. Then the Lord will go out to fight against those nations, as he has fought in times past” (Zechariah 14:1-3)."

"Notice, however, that only Jerusalem is mentioned here, not all of Israel. No time/space in this article to elaborate on that, but when this passage is compared to Zechariah 12:4-9, we see that this is when Messiah will gloriously appear and immediately begin fighting with and for Israel, beginning with the rest of Israel first, then focusing on Jerusalem. Moreover, Zechariah 14 tells us that half of the people will be taken captive and the other half remain in Jerusalem. Certainly some will be killed, but the logical and reasonable conclusion is that most of Jerusalem’s population will survive.

In fact, Zechariah 14:4 continues to prophecy that when Christ returns, he will first set foot on the Mount of Olives (right next to Jerusalem), which will cause the mountain to split in half. Many Jews will escape through the valley caused by this amazing split of the mountain.

634ac6a356cfa3876f746ccbb1b8fffc

All this combined with Revelation 12:13-14, which tells us that Israel (many Jews, but certainly not all) will be protected by the Lord during part of the Tribulation, puts the finishing touches on this correct application of Zechariah’s two-thirds loss of Jewish life prophecy.

Also, expanding on this by looking at it in still another way: The Holocaust was, in fact, predicted in the Bible."

"Things to Ponder

I am so grateful to the Lord!

Would you come along side me with the following prayer of thanksgiving highlighted in italics.

Thank you, Lord!

Thank you that your people will never again suffer the loss of life so brutally inflicted on them by the evil Third Reich, or even by the ancient Romans. Thank you for correct understanding and application of the two-thirds in Zechariah Chapter 13. That nowhere near that number will perish again.

Of course, it was there all along. You are immutable, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Like you, your word does not change. Rather, it changes us. By the power and under the influence of the Holy Spirit, your Word counsels, clarifies, comforts, and corrects.

Thank you for concluding the two-thirds prophecy with the following promise that began to unfold soon after World War II and continues to this day, and will be complete upon your majestic return to the earth:

“I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God’” (Zechariah 13:9)."

"Refuting four antisemitic claims of the Radical Hebrew Israelites" This article says

Prior to the rapper formerly known as Kanye West unleashing antisemitic tirades excused by, “I can’t be antisemitic because I am Jew too,” most American Jews had never heard of Hebrew Israelites. Yet, the ideology espoused by its radical factions is over a century old, and it’s already responsible for the murder of Jews on American soil.

The ideas that animate organizations like those seen marching outside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, chanting, “We are the real Jews,” are spreading fast. Like other mutations of antisemitism, Radical Hebrew Israelite (RHI) ideology is based on a number of falsehoods that can be easily debunked when properly understood.

Four antisemitic claims of RHIs
I’ve been studying and confronting RHIs for the past two decades. Based on my experience, the lies and conspiracy theories they tell about Jews can be distilled as follows:

The original Hebrews/Israelites/Jews were “Black” (or otherwise dark-skinned) — therefore, “white” or pale-skinned Jews must be illegitimate or inauthentic.
The Jewish people (often pejoratively described as Jew-ish or “the ish people”) are usurpers descended from the biblical Amalekites and/or Khazarian converts to Judaism.
The Jewish people on the whole (Sephardic, Mizrahi, and Ashkenazi) cannot be actual descendants of the ancient Hebrews because their historical experience doesn’t fit the curses outlined in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 28.
Jews are “the Synagogue of Satan” collectively responsible for the enslavement and subsequent suffering of African Americans, Caribbean, Latinx, and Native Americans; the true children of Israel.
As these tropes continue to spread like wildfire (some estimate that 7.8 million Americans subscribe to at least some of these beliefs), we need to be prepared with direct, yet nuanced responses.

Why is a nuanced response the most effective response? Extremism thrives in simplicity. Catch-all generalizations that manipulate a seed of truth are the MO of radicalization. Exposing the flaws in this worldview is our greatest means to stop radicalization in its tracks."

"Jews will not replace us" and "We are the real Jews" are two sides of the same antisemitic coin.

Conspiracy #1: The original Hebrews were “Black.”
Jewish tradition is pretty explicit about the fact that, on average, our ancient Hebrew forebears were dark complected. According to the Mishnah (Tractate Negaim), at the time of the Exodus, the children of Israel were (on average) neither literally white nor literally black but the color of boxwood — i.e. ruddy brown.

The sages who composed the Mishna wrote this in light of their lived experience: Ancient middle easterners/northeast Africans were physically diverse. By the time the Mishnah was compiled (circa 200 CE), many centuries had passed since our boxwood-colored ancestors left Egypt, and Israel (both the land and the people) saw a diverse array of peoples join it. Egyptians, Nubians, Greeks, Hittites, you name it! Fast forward to the various exiles that sent our ancestors all over the world, and what was already a physically diverse nation, became even more diverse.

Race is a modern construct, one that our ancestors wouldn’t have recognized. The moment Abraham became the first Hebrew by merely leaving his home in Mesopotamia, or when the Israelites left Egypt with a “mixed multitude,” any notion of racial purity lost its relevance.

Abraham’s Hebrew identity was rooted in an action, not a bloodline. Hence, Jews identify as a people, not merely a religion and not as a race. Being Jewish is a complex identity that inspired a lot of antisemitism in the Diaspora. Jews in Europe were explicitly targeted for being physically and/or ancestrally “Black” — this notion was central to Nazi propaganda and is at least as old as the term “antisemitism” itself.

According to British historian Tudor Parfitt, Wilhemm Marr (who popularized the word antisemitism) “argued that the blood of the Negro flowed freely in the veins of Jews. Jews therefore really were somatically as well as metaphorically the Blacks of Europe.” This later became a feature of Nazi ideology.

Black Hebrew Israelites continue to spew antisemitic rhetoric outside of @BarclaysCenter, home of the @BrooklynNets.

This time, they attacked a Jewish person in the crowd and praised Hitler for killing Jews.

Conspiracy #2: The Jewish people descended from Amalekite and/or Khazarian converts to Judaism.
Two historical events are twisted in RHI doctrine to account for the totality of the Jewish world: the Idumean-forced conversion to Judaism during the Hasmonean period, and the conversion of the Khazarian nobility to Judaism in the 8th century CE."

& continues
"These theories are false. None of the dazzling diverse historical Jewish communities (Sephardic, Mizrahi, Indian, Ethiopian, and Ashkenazi) can be said to descend primarily from either these or other mass conversions.

The descendants of Idumean converts were exiled alongside and intermingled with Jews of other backgrounds. The Khazarian hypothesis (that Ashkenazi Jews descended from the Khazars) has been thoroughly debunked by scholars.

The origins of Europe and Africa’s Jewish communities can be traced to displaced Judeans who, over time, were joined by local converts. This is well-documented by historians, linguists, and geneticists alike.

Ashkenazi Jews existed long before any Khazar became Jewish. However many Khazars remained Jewish after the destruction of their kingdom in the 10th century, they had little to no impact on Europe’s already-large Jewish communities.

Any attempt to label Jews “Amalekites” is ahistorical and motivated by the biblical framing of the Amalekites as the bitter enemies of Israel. RHI ideology is rooted in the belief that the Jewish people have engaged in a worldwide conspiracy to steal the Israelite identity.

This claim has no basis in the historical record. On the contrary, the spiritual leaders of the Jewish people saw themselves as part of a global Israelite family — some of whom were known to them, while others were “lost” to them. The diversity of Jewish communities around the world is a testament to this reality."

"Conspiracy #3: The Jewish historical experience doesn’t fit the curses in Deuteronomy 28.
Deuteronomy Chapter 28 — more commonly known to Jews as Devarim Parshat Ki Tavo — records the blessings and curses that will be visited upon the people of Israel if we uphold or repudiate our commitment to follow the Torah’s commandments (mitzvot) in the Land of Israel.

Much of Hebrew Israelism is predicated on drawing direct comparisons between the curses outlined in this chapter and the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade, chattel slavery, and Jim Crow.

To most Hebrew Israelites, verse 68 has unique importance: “And the Lord will bring you back to Egypt in ships…And there, you will seek to be sold to your enemies for slaves and handmaids.”

For Hebrew Israelites, America is cast as modern Egypt, and the reference to “ships” is seen as evidence that this verse (and others) refer to the peoples carried into slavery by ships to the Americas. For RHIs, this gives the descendants of slavery exclusive claim over the Israelite identity.

Without getting into the weeds of debating biblical hermeneutics, the inability to see Jews as having experienced the pains of persecution and exile described in these verses reflects a grave ignorance and denial of Jewish history.

Until relatively recently with the emancipation of Jewish communities in Western states and the rebirth of the State of Israel, Jewish history has been defined by incessant persecution, expulsions, and genocides throughout the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

This 2,000-year history began with the first-century CE destruction of Judean civilization and the mass enslavement of Jews, which included bringing large numbers of us in ships to slave markets in Egypt from which we were sent throughout the Roman Empire.

One has to ignore or deny this history in order to claim that the Jewish experience doesn’t fit Deuteronomy 28."

"Conspiracy #4: Jews are the “Synagogue of Satan” responsible for the slave trade and Black suffering in the Americas.
A tiny minority of Jews played a role in the financing, trafficking, and enslavement of Africans. This minority was responsible for between 6-10% of a trade that was dominated by European Christians and Arab Muslims.

To hyperfocus on the involvement of Jews to the point that it obfuscates the role played by the aforementioned groups is disingenuous and antisemitic. The vast majority of Jews played no role in the ugly institution of American chattel slavery. Blaming Jews as a whole for the actions of a minority of Jewish families is offensive and absurd.

The “Satanic Jews” trope was a consistent source of antisemitic violence in Medieval European Christian society. Preachers used New Testament (NT) verses such as Revelations 3:9 (“Behold…the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie”) to demonize the Jewish people as the source of all evil. They also used it to justify replacing them as God’s chosen people — AKA Replacement Theology.

Like most NT verses condemning Jews, the “Synagogue of Satan” insult is a remnant of the long-forgotten intercommunal dispute between the original Jewish followers of Jesus and the majority of the Jewish world who refused to recognize him as their messiah. The Jewish context of the birth of Christianity hasn’t stopped white supremacists from using these verses for antisemitic purposes, nor has its popularity in white supremacist circles discouraged RHI from repurposing it to fit their own version of Replacement Theology.

Conclusion
The likelihood of any one of us convincing a card-carrying member of a Radical Hebrew Israelite organization to abandon their antisemitic ways is slim. However, education is a powerful tool in preventing those vulnerable to adopting these ideas from becoming antisemitic in the first place. Ignorance is the breeding ground for prejudice, fear, and hatred.

RHI’s antisemitic caricature of Jews employs the same tropes of its sister mutations of Jew-hatred (white supremacist, Radical Islamist, anti-Zionist, etc.). In order to educate those vulnerable to accepting antisemitic tropes, we need to understand their core claims and how to refute them."
