Letter to Hank Hanegraaff

CRI International
P.O. Box 8500
Charlotte, NC 28271-8500

Mr. Hanegraaff,
What is it with you Replacement Theologists? Are the Jews that are living in Israel, and most especially Jerusalem threatening your “replacement-doctrine”? Have they so much threatened your doctrine that you have resorted to favoring and even spiritually supporting the Hamas-electing (Nazi) Palestinians when it comes to the status of Jerusalem? To me, such favoritism for such an anti-Semite, devil-possessed people, can only come from a anti-Semite source itself! Your doctrine speaks louder than any formal denial of anti-Semitism Mr. Hanegraaff.

Your hypocrisy as a Christian over the status of Jerusalem is quite overwhelming when one considers the fact that the Palestinians are the keepers of the Muslim shrine that now sits upon Solomon’s temple mount bearing Koranic verses in Arabic, proclaiming to all Christendom that God has no son and that the sonship of Jesus and the Trinity are false, while the Israeli Jews are allowing a huge multi-million dollar Christian Heritage Center to be built within their Jewish country. This is something that would never occur in any Muslim country, and it most certainly would never happen in your sought after Palestinian state. Based upon your replacement-doctrine, you had rather see the terrorist Palestinians rule Jerusalem (who jumped for joy at the news of 9/11) than to see God fulfill His convent to the Jews!

On August 3rd. of this year I heard you instruct a caller named Martha that Jesus was now the "land of Israel" thereby causing the Jews to no longer have any biblical ties to the land or most importantly, over Jerusalem. You even went as far as using Joshua 21:43 as your proof-text to back up your Israel-is-only-history claim. Are you really that naïve towards the Jewish scriptures Mr. Hanegraaff, or do you simply hate God’s eternal covenant with the Jewish people?

O seed of Abraham His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones! He is YHVH our God; His judgments are in all the earth. He remembers His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, and confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance," - Psalms 105:6-11

Thus says YHVH, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (YHVH of hosts is His name): "If those ordinances depart From before Me, says YHVH, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever." Thus says YHVH: "If heaven above can be measured, And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel For all that they have done, says YHVH. - Jeremiah 31: 35-37

Did you notice the words, "for all that they have done" in that last verse? That means the same ones that did the sinning to begin with is who this promise is to, and not some future sinful "spiritual Israel" that consist of gentiles!
.
Let me ask you Mr. Hanegraaff, which of the two nations did you come out of when you became a believer in Christ? What, you don’t understand this question? It is a trick question. However, since you insist on spiritualizing and replacing all of the physical promises to Israel as promises to the Church, the question shouldn’t be too difficult for you to answer for a Bible reader and Bible answer person like yourself, that is if you can bring yourself to account for all the holy printed words of Ezekiel 37:21-28. This holy text from the prophet Ezekiel just so happens to be written long after your proof text of Joshua 21:43 or any other proof text you might wish to use such as Joshua 21:43-45, 1 Kings 4:21, 1 Kings 8:56, 2 Chronicles 9:26, and Nehemiah 9:7-8, 24.

The prophecies contained within the book of Ezekiel that pertain to the physical Jewish nation are prophesied not only for a later time than those scriptures that you might try to use to show no further prophecy for Israel, but are to be fulfilled only during the messianic age to come, that never ends! That, my Replacement Theologist, rules out (without a doubt) the prophecies in Ezekiel being fulfilled during the Babylonian return!

The question for Replacement Theologist like yourself and your spiritual partner Colin Chapman is whether the subject of Ezekiel 37:21-28 is spiritual, physical, are both? If Ezekiel 37:21-28 has even the smallest element of relating to anything physical, then it would be quite ignorant on your part not to be a pro-active Christian Zionist. If your claim is that Ezekiel 37:21-28 only consist in a spiritual form for the believer in Christ, then my question again is: From which of the two nations (Israel or Judah) did you come out of, to be joined into one stick (as a believer) whereby you will never be part of one of two nations anymore? Isn't that what the Word of God text directly states? Therefore, I would like to know the answer to that question based upon the word of God, that in your mind has switched from being totally physical (pertaining to Israel) to totally spiritual (pertaining to you, the believer).

A more to the point question is: Can you honestly read Ezekiel 37:21-28 that was written by exiled Hebrew prophet, in the Hebrew language, for the exiled Hebrew people to read, and still claim that the promises that are contained therein have nothing whatsoever to do with the physical exiled Hebrew people? Can you honestly do that Mr. Henegraaff without even a pause of thought that what you are doing by injecting such a replacement-doctrine into a given context of scripture is indeed altering the meaning of God's holy words from their original context of the anointed Hebrew Prophet Ezekiel while willfully disregarding God's direct promises to His chosen people that is contained within the anointed heaven-breathed text?

.
Allow me to dissect Ezekiel 37:21-28 verse by verse for you from just what is written therein and how it relates to physical Israel’s history. As I do this, it will become very evident that by trying to paint a “spiritual-only” scene from such a clear text is to make the Hebrew prophet Ezekiel a lair and a false prophet to his Hebrew people to whom he wrote and preached to in his day, and for Hebrew generations that were to follow.

V. 21 And say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
From the first four words on this verse it is evident that God has commanded Ezekiel to say something to someone but just who is that someone he is to speak to? To answer that question we need only to go up three verses to verse 18 where God tells Ezekiel “And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these? Say unto them.. Therefore, it is clear that Ezekiel’s message is directed at “the children of his people So we must then ask ourselves: “Are these “children of his people” whom he spoke to, spiritual or physical Israel?” The answer to this question really lays the whole foundation as to whether or not the entire following context of prophecy should be applied to physical Israel (the children of Ezekiel's people) or some "spiritual Israel" that would included people from every nation that are not children of Ezekiel's people.
.
Since the physical children of Israel, (including Ezekiel himself) was placed into exile “among the heathen” when Ezekiel wrote this verse, (21) does this verse have anything at all to do with physical Israel being gathered? Can one "connect the dots" (as in 2 plus 2 equals 4) and plainly see that Ezekiel wanted the children of his present exiled people to know that a "gathering" for a return to the land from where they were presently exiled from would in their physical future? Isn't that a real simple Bible question?

And what is this “into their own land” business doing in this verse? Was God referring to the land of Canaan as belonging to physical Israel as He was saying “into their own land” to His prophet Ezekiel? Wasn’t God concerned about the Palestinians and their claim to the land as you and your good
spiritual buddy Colin Chapman are? In other words, Mr. Hanegraaff, is it possible to obtain from this one verse (21) that the God who made the statement “in their own land” was in fact decreeing that the land of Canaan belongs to the same ones who are gathered from the heathens (in the text) and not some squatting, Jew-hating Palestinians who, by the way, claim that they are now God’s chosen “replacement” people, according to sura 3:110 of their Koran? I mean, isn't that amazing how you and the Palestinians that you support claim to be the "replacement people"? You use your New Testament and your terrorist so-called Palestinians use their Koran for the same Jew Chosen People denial doctrine and goal!

V.22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
Why doesn’t this verse it say “ the land upon the mountains of Palestine”? Since physical Israel’s history contains an ancient past from the time this verse was written of having two kingdoms, each one having their own king, is there any chance at all that this verse is talking about physical Israel? Any chance at all? Remember your claim of total spiritual Israel when answering this question. You cannot pick and choose physical and spiritual when you wish and still attempt to stay credible even in your own mind. If one part of these verses in the context of Ezekiel 37:21-28 is physical Israel, then the entire context is then physical Israel!

V.23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be My people, and I will be their God.
In following the context of the prior verses, it becomes very clear to see that the subjects (they, their, and them) are the same physical Israel that are gathered "into 'their' own land" in verses 21 and 22. Therefore, is it too far of a stretch to conclude that the Hebrew prophet Ezekiel was prophesying that his people “physical Israel” (verse 18) that will be cleansed (as a people still under a forever-covenant) from their sins as a physical nation, while being in their own physical land and pleasing their God?

This would be a good place to stop and reflect, and to make sure that I haven’t
missed some “spiritual-Israel” meaning here that the prophet Ezekiel was meaning to convey to whomever read his written words of this text? Nope, I don’t see anything yet, so let me continue.

V.24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
Since the subjects (them / they) haven’t changed in the context but continues from verses 21 and 22, I don’t think that I’m going out on a limb to say that David (referring to a physical Jew) will be over “physical” Israel. Also, in following the context from verse 21, we can see that the same ones who are gathered "into their 'own' land" will be "gathered" into their own land at the time of this Davidic messiah.

That's right, no prophecy being fulfilled during the Babylonial return here! Physical history, as well as New Testament scriptures show that there was no great in-gathering of physical Israel “from among the heathen” and "into their own land" during the time that Jesus was upon the earth (see St. John 7:35, Acts 24:5). Neither did physical Israel have a Davidic messiah to rule over them as a prince “forever” (see verse 25) when only 5% of the Babylonian exiles returned to the land, as you Replacement Theologists love to claim when cornered.

There certainly would not be such a thing called the “Babylonian Talmud” today if the majority of physical Israel would have returned according to greatness of this "return" promise that Ezekiel is conveying in this text.
Therefore, call me a Zionist if you must, (and you must) but seemingly this verse leaves us with only one way to interpret its prophecy, by which one must say, "future physical tense"!

V.25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and My servant David shall be their prince for ever.
Is the land that is being described in this verse, as the land that God gave Jacob (Israel) physical or spiritual? In other words, can one find this very land that God gave Jacob and that Ezekiel is referring to in this text on a physical (non-spiritual) map? Who is it that is being referred to in this verse when the prophet Ezekiel uses the word “your” as he uses the term “your fathers”?

Again, I want to make sure I’m not missing anything with a “spiritual-Israel-only” element here in regarding this holy prophecy. Ezekiel, being the Hebrew prophet that he was, wouldn’t he be directing his statement towards his own physical Hebrew people (in correlation with verse 18)? Again, this is a very simple Bible question. Is there any chance at all, and by any stretch of the
imagination that Ezekiel might have been talking to the Palestinians and about their Palestinian fathers who have dwelt in the land, or maybe some spiritual believers in Jesus whose spiritual fathers dwelt in some spiritual land? Come on now, let's not avoid that question but answer it head-on and directly. Here's the question again Mr. Bible Answer Man:

Q. Is the anointed Hebrew prophet Ezekiel talking about future Arab-based so-called Palestinians or Spiritual Israel Gentile Christians when he writes he holy inspired script-text: "And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever"?
.
Let me ask it in the form of a multiple choice question just so we can be really clear on this. In staying with the flow of the context from verse 21, are the children from the ones who are gathered from among the heathen into their own physical land that God gave Jacob (v.25), of whom is Ezekiel most directing his statements towards in this prophecy text:
A. The future Gentile spiritual followers of Jesus.
B. The Palestinians (to whom the Quartet wants a state within the land mentioned).
C. The physical seed of Jacob and their physical generations.

The same question applies to the children’s children as well (meaning for all future generations of these gathered ones)? It should be plain to you Mr. Hanegraaff, that since the land that God gave Jacob, where the ancient Jewish “fathers dwelt” is undeniably very physical, and that no Christian doctrine has ever claimed that based upon this prophecy in Ezekiel, that all Christendom should be gathered from among the heathen into the physical land God gave to Jacob, nor has all of Christendom ever done so since the Christian era began. Furthermore, I don’t recall seeing any Palestinians in the movie “The Passion” did you? I wonder why not? Maybe the replacement-theology believing, anti-Semitic, Mel Gibson forgot to put them in his movie?

V.26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
Again, in following the context from verses 21 and 22, the “them” can only be physical Israel, who will be multiplied with a forever sanctuary in their midst. And since it’s a physical Israel who is gathered from the physical heathens into their own physical land, where their physical fathers dwelt, in the same physical land that God gave physical Jacob, where their physical children and physical children’s children will be forever, then there is no reason to think that there won’t be a physical sanctuary in their physical midst forever. Especially since there is a physical temple described in great detail by the same prophet Ezekiel (who served as a priest in the old physical temple) starting just three chapters later in chapters 40-48.

That’s right, as a Christian Mr. Henegraaff, you should be grateful that the physical temple that is promised to be among physical Israel in the near future will cause
the Muslim shrine that is devoted to the terrorist-god Allah, and that bears the Koranic verse of sura 17:111 declaring “God has No Son” will have to go by-by! Doesn’t that make you put on a big Christian smile on your replacement-theology face?

V.27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
The phrase, “I will be their God, and they shall be my people” concerning the physical nation of Israel is repeated several times by the prophets Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Zechariah (see Jer. 7:22,23, Jer. 11:4, Jer. 24:5-7, Jer. 30: 18-22, *Jer. 31:1,33,* Jer. 32:37,38, Ezk.11:20, Ezk. 14:11, Ezk. 36:28, Zech. 8:8) and their is absolutely no reason to think that the meaning of this phrase is any different in this prophecy of Ezekiel 37 than of all the times spoken.

One thing that all these scriptures containing this phrase have in common is the fact that the phrase is always used in the context of physical Israel returning to the physical land of their forefathers! The prophet Ezekiel while directing his message to an exiled nation, expresses this God-spoken phrase three times in chapter 37 alone and once in the prior chapter. From the whole of the Hebrew scriptures, there should be no need to explain to whom God continually throughout calls “His people”. Neither should there be any effort to spiritualize God’s word away from its original meaning by injecting some supposedly hidden-spiritual meaning into these holy words that are so clearly written “in your Gentile face” each time you read it!

V. 28 And the heathen shall know that I YHVH do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
Who is the “heathen” and who is the “Israel” and the “them” in this verse? If we follow the context from verses 21 and 22 all the way through to verse 28, it becomes quite easy to see that the “Israel” and the “them” are none other than physical Israel, the seed of Jacob to whom God gave the land to, as He gathers them from among the heathens "into their own land" "where their fathers had once dwelt", and where their children, and where their children‘s children will please and obey God under the prince Davidic messiah forever.

I don’t think I just said anything in the last sentence that might be considered injecting something into this prophecy that might be adding or taking something away from the original context and the intent of the prophet Ezekiel as he wrote down this holy scripture. Can you say that when reading this holy text of Ezekiel 37:21-28 Mr. Hanegraaff? Knowing that a word is a thought expressed, does your spiritual-Israel doctrine fit perfectly into the mindset of the prophet Ezekiel as he was expressing his thoughts from God in word form that we now see as this holy text?

In other words, If someone were to ask Ezekiel immediately after he finished writing this text about the concept of replacing physical Israel that he was apart of, with a spiritual (goyim populated) Israel, would he inform you that indeed that was the his main theme of why he wrote the inspired text, or would he curse you for being so spiritually and willfully stupid against God revealed plan for His chosen people?

.
Continuing on, who is the heathen” that is mentioned in this verse 28? Is this verse talking about you Mr. Henegraaff? Are you the Replacement-Theologist heathen along with others like you that will know at the time when this prophecy is being fulfilled that God does sanctify Israel (something you now deny, which is exactly what the verse implies that the heathen will do up until the time this promise is fulfilled)?

However, on the other hand, if you are the “spiritual Israel” that you claim you are, and this scripture reading from Ezekiel 37 is the new way to correctly read this text, and therefore I’m the non-believing heathen in this verse; then Ezekiel would have to had lied, because the prophecy stated that the heathen will know (meaning without any doubt whatsoever) that Israel (be it you or the Jewish people) is sanctified by their God.

All that I have to do is read this prophecy in its original context without any deviation, while knowing who wrote it, who it was written to, and the background as to why it was written, and I will have obtained enough of information and reason to doubt that God has sanctified you as spiritual Israel, (according to the very wording of the text) and by a simple reading of the text can verify that your “spiritual-Israel” and replacement-theology didn't come from the same God that inspire Ezekiel to write what he wrote and in the context that he wrote it in!
How about that?
.
However, if physical Israel, (the ones that have re-entered the land of Canaan after two thousand years, and have established Jerusalem as their sovereign capital, while being the only ones to do so since the time of King David) are in anyway connected to this Ezekiel prophecy, then you Mr. Answer Man, are in-line for a rude spiritual awakening that will cause you to have to give another type of an answer, an answer according to the scripture that assures that heathens like yourself will definitely know the truth about Israel and the God who sanctifies her.

Knowing your status as the heathen, it is no wonder why you side with the Hamas-electing (Nazi) Palestinians over the status of Jerusalem even while knowing that they are in indeed Hamas-electing religious-Nazis! Then you have the audacity to vilify the physical nation of Israel as you try and take from her, her personal prophecy in order to magnify your own man-made “spiritual” doctrine! I’ll end this letter with another "physical Israel" scripture that is very comparable to the Ezekiel 28:21-28 scripture, and which should be considered in light of this prophecy.

And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods? For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, YHVH, art become their God. - II Samuel 7:23,24

Wishing you a pro-Israel / pro-Zionist day,

Hank H. is on WTRU here in North Carolina. He is known as the Bible answer man (how ironic).I also will not be supporting him in any way!!

To Brent,
I'd be interested in hearing as why you don't care for him either.

For me, as I place on my latest blog, it's from the Replacement Theologists such as Hank Hanegraaf, that literally "all" Christian-antisemitism derives, including the very foundation and expression of the Holocaust itself!

Hank Hanegraaf is an antisemite that uses his form of Christianity in order to express it.

Another reason I can't stand the man, is because the very first person he attacked on his "Counterfeit Revival" books and tapes was a man I dearly and deeply respect by the name of William Branham.

I just wrote our local christian radio station here in Houston and asked the station manager to discontinue giving this man's anti-semitic speech a platform to spew from.

I have known for awhile that Hank Hanegraaff is a preterist, but he has become more and more bold in his hate speech against Israel, so-called zionist (anyone that doesn't believe as he does) and vicious character assassination of those who disagree with him. Tonight, he lumped them all together and said they are calling for the ethnic cleansing of non-Jews from Israel!

I see a man that is accustomed to lying, and will say anything to persuade those less educated in God's Word, who think he really is the "answer man". Shameful!

On the bright side, I found your blog and enjoyed your letter to him. :-)

To Laura,
May the Lord God of Israel Bless you. Even if the Houston radio station continues to carry Hanegraff's antisemitic broadcast, you did your part on behalf of God's covenant with His chosen, and therefore for God Himself.

The enemy always tries to victim-villain role switch according to what's in their own heart. Therefore, when Hanegraff's lies by claiming "ethnic cleansing" is his enemies' goal, it is because that is what is in his very own heart towards the Jewish people and their supporters to begin with! He in essence tries to project his evil heart unto the heart of the righteous while claiming their righteousness for his own evil self!

In hearing of Hanegraff's "boldness" it bring to mind what I just wrote five days ago on my latest blog:
"One thing that I noticed more and more, is the openness among Israel's enemies against Jewish nation as a people. Because of the realization of the horrors of the Holocaust that murdered Jews by method of race, most societies after the Holocaust considered it taboo to be anti-Jewish by race. Therefore antisemitism attempted to disguised itself by using the code word "Zionists" in the place of Jew or "Juden". Because the hatred for the State of Israel (literally, the world's Holocaust refuge for the Jewish people) has now became so great among the world societies that the blame of the Holocaust is now being placed upon the Jews themselves and while the Holocaust is being minimized by so-called revisionists, the Jews once again are starting to be singled out by race and religion".

Again Laura, May God richly bless you for taking such a holy stand - expect a blessing according to God's Word, I've not seen it fail yet.
Thanks for visiting,
-Joe

Thank you, Joe, for the blessing. I could sure use it in this economy.

I would like to put the "Standing with Israel" graphic over there -->
on my website, but I need to know what the Hebrew says. Would you post it when you get a sec? Thanks bunches, and God bless you.

To Laura,
The Hebrew that you mentioned means:
"Together with Israel" pronounced in Hebrew, "Yachad - eem - Yisrael".
It is read from left to right.

I don't know if you got my response to your post on another blog, but if you want to hear some "very interesting" radio shows (just the opposite of what one would hear on a Hank Hanegraaf radio show) check out Israel National radio at http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Radio/

My favorites radio hosts are Tovia Singer and Tamar Yonah, but the other are good too.

Also, I just started a Zionism-Now Facebook site: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=330529278945&ref=ts

From First Fruits of Zion
ffoz.org an article is

"Wrong Answer, Bible Answer Man!" This article says
"Despite claims to the contrary by conference participants, replacement theology permeates the Christ at the Checkpoint conference.

BY ZEEV RABINOWITZ MARCH 16, 2016
"Strategically timed to coincide with the virulently anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic Israel Apartheid Week taking place on college campuses around the world, the 2016 Christ at the Checkpoint (CATC) Conference began this week in Bethlehem.

The conference, which is hosted by Bethlehem Bible College, claims as its mission the task of challenging “Evangelicals to take responsibility to help resolve the conflicts in Israel/Palestine by engaging with the teaching of Jesus on the Kingdom of God.”

The theme of this year’s conference is “The Gospel in the Face of Religious Extremism.” However, the only religious extremism conference participants seem to have in mind is Zionism. Munther Isaac, who spearheads the conference, delivered a paper entitled “Christian Zionism as Imperial Theology.”

Since its first conference in 2010, Christ at the Checkpoint has proven itself to be anything but the great peacemaker among evangelicals that it purports to be. To say that the conference is decidedly one-sided would be an understatement. CATC relentlessly demonizes Israel and places the burden of reconciliation squarely on the shoulders of Jewish followers of Yeshua and their shrinking ranks of evangelical supporters. The presumptive Palestinian State is lovingly embraced with a sense of divine providence that many evangelicals once reserved for the modern State of Israel. Palestinian Christians, indeed Palestinians in general, are now perceived to have more in common with Jesus and the promised land than Israel’s Jewish inhabitants do.

How can we account for this Orwellian reversal of reality? To be sure, many factors have energized this paradigm shift. Suffice it to say that the growing influence of replacement theology, or supersessionism (the doctrine that the church has “superseded” or replaced Israel as the new people of God), is undoubtedly the main reason.

What we know today as the modern evangelical movement began to take shape in the 1940s and 1950s. These evangelicals put a great deal of emphasis on the exposition of Scripture and the literal fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Replacement theology eventually seeped into the evangelical movement so that evangelicals are divided on the subject today.

Despite claims to the contrary by conference participants, replacement theology permeates the Christ at the Checkpoint conference.

Consider the case of radio talk show host and “Bible Answer Man,” Hank Hanegraff who delivered a paper entitled, “A Gospel Response to Christian Zionism.” Just yesterday the conference tweeted the following from Hanegraff:

"The holy land, holy city and holy temple have historical significance, but no longer have theological significance.”

His statement is fundamentally incorrect, both biblically and theologically.

Let’s begin on the theological level. Hanegraff asserts that the holy land (which is actually called the “promised land” in the Bible), the Holy City, and Holy Temple have historical—but no theological significance. This is actually impossible, as the two are inextricably linked. Theology never takes place in a historical vacuum."

Anonymous said...

The article continues
"In one sense Hanegraff is engaging in what Kendall Soulen refers to as “structural supersessionism,” in which “distinctly Jewish or Israelite elements of Scripture are a mere background to the biblical story, which moves primarily from universal creation to universal consummation by way of universal sin and universal redemption. Israel, per se, is not really even in the main story of the Bible.” For Hanegraff and those at CATC who share his theological convictions, Israel as a nation was always ultimately irrelevant to God’s kingdom program.

In another sense, however, and despite his claims to the contrary, Hanegraff does believe that Israel is theologically significant—but not in a good way. The reason Israel is no longer theologically relevant is its rejection of Jesus, an event grounded in history. God stripped the nation of its covenant promises and its memory remains a perpetual example of God’s judicial wrath. Soulen labels this form of replacement theology “punitive supersessionism.”

Hanegraff is also wrong on the biblical level. He would have us believe the Gospels repudiate the land and the city of Jerusalem and the Temple as holy spaces, but this is simply not true.

Matthew presents Jesus as Israel’s Messiah-King who has come to inaugurate the nation’s eschatological restoration. Combining narrative material with “fulfillment quotations” from the Hebrew Bible that evoke themes of Israel’s return from exile, Matthew reveals that Jesus’ arrival in the Galilee has triggered that event (Matthew 4:12-17). In Matthew’s gospel, the Galilee is filled with messianic significance.

Matthew displays a great deal of reverence for Jerusalem. He refers to Jerusalem as the “holy city” at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry (Matthew 4:5) and after his death (Matthew 27:53). And, as Anders Runesson points out, Jerusalem’s holiness is “connected to the God of Israel and the temple, not the leadership.” Jesus’ mournful woe against Jerusalem and its current inhabitants in Matthew 23 is filled with longing for the nation’s repentance and future restoration. Citing Psalm 118:26, Jesus declares that Jerusalem will see him again when its inhabitants declare, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” This is not the cry of recalcitrant Jews standing before Jesus at the final judgment (as many replacement theologians assert) but rather the words of the redeemed remnant at the time of Israel’s restoration.

Whether the Gospels envision the Temple’s destruction or purification remains a subject of debate even among scholars who anticipate Israel’s future redemption. What is clear, however, is that the Gospels always portray the Temple as holy. In fact, as Runesson again points out, it is the Temple and the One who dwells in it that makes the gold in the Temple sacred (Matthew 23:17). The nation’s corrupt leadership and wicked shepherds are in fact the real cause of the Temple’s destruction (Matthew 9:36, 21:33, 45).

Hanegraff’s catchy tweet might energize the CATC faithful who want to demonize Israel and invalidate the nation’s theological significance but under close scrutiny the evidence collapses on both a theological and biblical level."

"Hank Hanegraaff’s false theology and questionable character"
Posted on July 9, 2007 by Don , this article says
"Hank Hanegraaff of CRI has a staff that gets him answers. That makes him credible on many biblical topics but when Hank Hanegraaff himself steps out in certain areas of theology he displays a basic lack of biblical understanding. We should not be surprised that mockers like Hank Hanegraaff would come against those who declare the soon coming of Jesus, Bible prophecy declares they will. The questionable character issues are well known and they can easily be found with any keyword search on his name on Google.

Here is an excerpt of an article by Jan Markel of Olivetreeviews.org about Hank Hanegraaff’s attack on Dispensational Premillennial Theology (article was posted on Worldview Weekend).

ANSWERING “THE BIBLE ANSWERMAN” Three years ago Hank decided to get on the eschatology bandwagon for himself. He began a series of fiction on his eschatology: Preterism. That belief says that all or most of end-time events transpired in 70 AD. Nero was the Antichrist. The Tribulation was the persecution of Christians. Hank and most “partial Preterists” still believe in the Second Coming. “Full Preterists” believe Christ returned “in spirit” in 70 AD. Not much fanfare for the King of Kings back then!

Now many are taking Hanegraaff to task for not only false theology but for outrageous comments on air and in his book, “Apocalypse Code” as well as his fiction series with co-author Sigmund Brouwer. Dr. Thomas Ice, who serves on this ministry’s “board of reference” says, “The great majority of the book (Apocalypse Code) is a rant against Hanegraaff’s distorted view of Dispensationalism in general and Tim LaHaye in particular. There is precious little actual exegesis, if any at all, to support his Preterist/idealist eschatology; however, there are great quantities of some of the most vicious tirades against LaHaye and many other Bible prophecy teachers that I have ever read in print.” This can be found on the Web site of the Pre-Trib Research Institute, www.pre-trib.org.”

Post script editor note: the name of the book in the above excerpt was corrected. Markell uses the name “Apocalypse Countdown” in her article the book name is actually “Apocalypse Code”

Check this later post of mine for links to Dr. Norman Geisler and Dr. Thomas Ice review of Hanegraaff’s “Apocalypse Code” "

"Hank Hanegraaff’s Abuse of Biblical Truth"

by Ken Ham on May 9, 2013 this article says

"Most of you have likely heard of Hank Hanegraaff, president of the Christian Research Institute (CRI) and host of the radio broadcast Bible Answer Man. In a recent issue of the Creation Research Journal, which is published by CRI, Hanegraaff made some very disturbing statements about Scripture’s account of dinosaurs and sea monsters—and the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

Hanegraaff wrote a book on the issue of creation titled The Creation Answer Book. I previously published a review on my blog.

Sadly, The Creation Answer Book made it evident that Hanegraaff does not hold to a literal Genesis (but buys into geological and astronomical evolution), as he was unwilling to understand Genesis in its most natural form—historical narrative.

In this more recent article, called “Leviathan, Dragons, and Dinosaurs, Oh My!” (CRJ, vol. 36, no. 2), Hanegraaff denies that the Bible’s accounts of the sea creature leviathan and the large behemoth (that we think is an apt description of what could be a sauropod dinosaur) are literal. Working through Job chapters 38–41, Hanegraaff claims that of all the things God lists to Job, these two creatures are meant to be understood as metaphors. He writes the following:

In sum, Leviathan and Behemoth are not dinosaurs but personifications that illustrate a metaphysical reality. As such, the mythology of the dragon underscores the reality of the Devil.
Well, he’s right on one count—leviathan was not a dinosaur, because only particular land animals (possibly behemoth) were dinosaurs. Leviathan was a sea creature, and thus was created on Day Five of Creation Week (Genesis 1:21). Hanegraaff, though, seems to think that some Christians believe leviathan was a dinosaur. At AiG, we understand the technical definition of dinosaur is for a group of land animals, and so we have never suggested leviathan was a dinosaur. Leviathan was a real animal that lived in the sea. The description could fit something like the great Kronosaurus, but we don’t know for sure.

What’s more, every other creature (living or nonliving) that God mentions in Job 38–41 (e.g., lion, raven, donkey, wild ox, ostrich, horse, locust, hawk, or eagle) are literal objects that Job saw. Why would God suddenly mention two “personifications” (which means to give living traits to an inanimate object or idea) in the midst of literal objects?

In fact, leviathan is mentioned repeatedly in Scripture (Job 3:8, 41:1; Psalm 74:14, 104:26; Isaiah 27:1). There’s no denying this was a real creature that people were familiar with. Hanegraaff’s conclusion doesn’t make sense in light of all this, but it does reveal his denial of the fact that man lived alongside these great beasts (dinosaurs), which were also made on Day Six of creation along with man. God even pointed out to Job that behemoth was made along with you (Job 40:15).

Hanegraaff, however, relies on a “literary” understanding of Scripture. He says that means he reads God’s Word “in the most obvious and natural sense,” but his views on dinosaurs above clearly contradict that. In other words, he doesn’t believe that dinosaurs, which are land animals, were made on the same day as Adam."

The article continues
"But it actually gets worse: Hanegraaff also denies there was a literal serpent in the Garden of Eden that audibly spoke to Eve. He claims the following:

Eve was not deceived by a talking snake. Rather, Moses used the symbol of a snake to communicate the wiles of the Evil One who deceived Eve through mind-to-mind communication . . .
Now, Hanegraaff’s claim clearly contradicts the plain reading of Genesis 3, which has already been shown beyond doubt to be historical narrative. So how is his reading the “most obvious and natural”? Really, it isn’t. His view on the serpent here causes problems for how we’re to read 2 Corinthians 11:3, where the Apostle Paul clearly considers the serpent to be literal. Furthermore, Paul warns that just as the serpent (a real serpent) beguiled Eve, so Satan will use the same method on us. And that method was to get people to doubt God’s Word, which would lead to unbelief. Sadly, Hanegraaff, by his compromise position in regard to the serpent, is really getting people to doubt God’s Word in Genesis.

Because Hanegraaff holds to an old earth (and hence, also denies a global Flood), that in order to support his views, he has to explain away literal references to man and dinosaurs living alongside each other in Genesis—and that carries over into how he reads much of the creation account in Genesis.

It’s sad that influential Christians like Hanegraaff wholeheartedly accept many secular humanistic ideas like long-age geology and the big bang. When they accept these competing (anti-biblical) claims and mix them with their Christianity, something always has to give. Most people give up what the Bible plainly says in light of the “secular religion” of long ages. I want to encourage you to stand strong on the authority of God’s Word and watch out for these secular ideas in the church. Don’t mix these two religions (Hebrews 10:23). To do so is really no different than the Israelites mixing with the Baal worship of their day. Man’s fallible word should never be used to reinterpret God’s clear Word. To do so is to attack and undermine the authority of the infallible Word.

Moreover, beyond the Bible’s many references to land-dwelling dinosaurs and great sea creatures, there are flood and dragon legends from around the world. It makes sense from these abundant accounts that many of the land “dragons” were actually dinosaurs and the sea dragons were sea creatures like the pliosaurs. Of course, Hanegraaff denies that there is any truth to these accounts, but at the Creation Museum, we actually have a new Dragon Legends exhibit opening soon that presents this compelling evidence. I doubt Hanegraaff will like this spectacular exhibit one bit, as it lays out—from historical records—many of the dragon legends.

Our high-quality Dragon Legends exhibit, opening later this month, contains amazing artifact models, artwork, and facts surrounding the dragon legends we have researched from around the world. And what’s our conclusion? The evidence that these legends provides actually confirms what the Bible says—man, dinosaurs, and sea monsters existed together since Creation Week.

Flood legends abound in cultures around the world because there was a real Flood—Noah’s Flood. For more information, see our book Dragons: Legends & Lore of Dinosaurs.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken

"The Bible Answer Man Said What?"
on February 4, 2017

By Jan Markell , this article says

"In 2005 I brought Hal Lindsey to the Twin Cities for a large conference. Hal’s book, “Late-Great Planet Earth,” had a profound impact on me as a young person. I certainly would not be in this ministry were it not for the end-time apologetics I learned from Hal. Like all of us, he is a flawed man and may not have every conclusion exactly right but he ignited an interest in the things to come by making those issues much easier to understand.

He told me that some who hold to improper eschatology will often disagree with great contention. He said the same to the entire audience a few hours later. He didn’t understand why we couldn’t disagree without all the bloodshed.

Let me add that I appreciate all of you who write in disagreement to anything but keep the tone respectful. We see through a glass darkly now (I Corinthians 13:12).

Lindsey was right about the propensity to contend contentiously. Preterist Gary DeMar says I have a “nonsense conference.” Tell that to the tens of thousands who have attended one or more of the 20 conferences and return home very very blessed. Some even found salvation.

But DeMar says my attendees only hear “regurgitated prophetic speculation.” We are all discredited date-setting prophecy pundits.

A few years ago Hank Hanegraaff, the Bible Answer Man, came out as a Preterist. That theological aberration says all prophecy is past: It all happened in 70 A.D. We missed it! It’s actually history, not prophecy. Who knew?

To believe that then I’ve been studying something that is ancient history and offers no hope for the future. There is no Rapture and no Millennium. Nothing. Our “blessed hope” went up in smoke. We can only pour through the history books to learn that prophecy was fulfilled almost 2,000 years ago. This stretches credulity since one-third of the Bible — all references to things to come — is written in a futuristic tone.

Why wouldn’t the Bible clearly state we should look back and not to the future? The conundrum is this–if it’s already taken place, why the instruction to watch and be ready? The prophesied season of the Lord’s return is to be as in the days of Noah–certainly a 21st Century reference and not an AD 70 reference. (Luke 17)

On “The Bible Answer Man” on January 23, a caller asked Hank what he thought of Olive Tree Ministries. I hardly thought I was on his radar. The daughter of Walter Martin, Jill Martin Rische, is a very prominent player in my ministry and her father founded the Christian Research Institute. Hank took it over after Martin’s death in 1989.

Hank fired away once the caller asked him his opinion of this ministry. Without hesitation he said I am “reprehensible,” “unreliable,” “sensational,” “a blight on our times,” “leading the gullible,” and engage in “Script-torture.” How thankful I am for Matthew 5:11: “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you…”

The article continues
"Hanegraaff admits that his ministry “lost millions” when he came out as a Preterist. Churches and conferences cancelled him. His open door to the world became a slammed shut door.

The fall-guys became John Darby, Dr. Mark Hitchcock, Tim LaHaye — and now Olive Tree Ministries and Jan Markell. One who really challenged Hank was Dr. Mark Hitchcock who debated him a few years ago. There isn’t much left of Preterism after the three-hour debate. I will provide the link at the end of this report. Hitchcock reveals the real script-torture that Preterism represents.

Here are just a few bullet points for you to ponder before you turn on The Bible Answer Man again. Maybe it doesn’t matter but it should. Hanegraaff embraces these beliefs:

– God is not pro-Jew.

– Dispensationalism must be denounced. He prays it will fade into the shadowy recesses of history and laments that it is the “reigning theology in the West.”(That’s because it is truth.)

– God has only one chosen people: Christians. God is not a racist. He hasn’t blessed any one group of people based of one’s birth mother. In other words, Jews, get over it: You’re not “chosen.”

– Hanegraaff believes all followers of Christ are the chosen people — something those believing in Replacement Theology hold to. It is tragic that this is a part of the “answers” to evangelicals from the Bible Answer Man. What must Dr. Walter Martin be thinking? He loved the Jews.

– Stephen Sizer is his hero. Sizer is a blatant anti-Semite from the U.K. who hangs out with Ayatollah Khomeini’s daughters. Such association will not do Hank’s Preterism any good.

– God is not a land-broker basing things on genetics. Read that as Israel doesn’t belong to the Jews.

– The Rapture is nonsense invented by John Darby and is “forced onto the biblical text.”

You can hear him make these statements here and here.

Hanegraaff made it clear he does not recommend me or apparently my associates, Jill Martin Rische or Eric Barger.

Hank participates in the Israel-bashing at the Christ at the Checkpoint conferences and is seen there identifying with the like-minded, Stephen Sizer, Gary Burge, and Colin Chapman. Sizer, Burge and Chapman despise Israel. This is not a club of which you want to be a member if you love the truth of God and His plan for Israel.

He closes his 2016 message at Christ at the Checkpoint by making an appeal that with non-essential theology we behave with charity so we can debate in a cordial fashion. I don’t think the mud-slinging he did at this ministry was done in a cordial manner. His voice was firm and angry as he addressed the caller’s question about this ministry. “Olive Tree Ministries is a blight on our times” he stated."

Anonymous said...

The article lastly says
"Eric Barger, my radio co-host, wrote a provocative commentary a few years ago, “When Discernment Turns Ugly.” He states, ” From what is sometimes only one pen or keyboard, judgment is meted out against the suspected offender as newsletters are printed, blogs are published, seminars are given, and whole ministries and reputations are possibly done irreversible harm. All this takes place no matter how flimsy the evidence presented may be, and often over non-essential theologies! This should disgust the Christian community and I fear for the next generation of apologists (and those they’ll likely influence) who are being schooled by this example. ”

Got Questions says this about Preterism: ” According to Preterism, all prophecy in the Bible is really history. The Preterist interpretation of Scripture regards the book of Revelation as a symbolic picture of first-century conflicts, not a description of what will occur in the end times. The term Preterism comes from the Latin praeter, meaning ‘past.’

“Thus, Preterism is the view that the biblical prophecies concerning the ‘end times’ have already been fulfilled — in the past. Preterism is directly opposed to futurism , which sees the end-time prophecies as having a still-future fulfillment.”

Got Questions says, “Preterism is divided into two types: Full (or consistent) Preterism and Partial Preterism.”

“Preterism teaches that the Law was fulfilled in AD 70 and God’s covenant with Israel was ended.”

Partial Preterists do believe in the return of Christ to earth and a future resurrection and judgment, but they do not teach a Millennial Kingdom or that Israel as a nation has a place in God’s future plan. According to Partial Preterists, the Bible’s references to “the last days” are speaking of the last days of the Old Jewish Covenant, not the last days of the earth itself.

Hanegraaff says Israel should not be treated as the object of our eschatological hope. He denies the 144,000 are Jews and denies the Two Witnesses are literal. He misses the essential apologetic of history: God has two distinct people. And he would apply Zechariah 2:8 to the church: “For thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.'” Within evangelicalism, this is always a reference to Israel.

Some ministries would never recover from such a verbal assault as was directed at Olive Tree back on January 23. If this is the new apologetics style, God help us. It has become blood sport."

"'Bible Answer Man' Hank Hanegraaff Cancer Update: I Have Tumors Throughout My Entire Body"
By Stoyan Zaimov, Christian Post Reporter on Tuesday May 16, 2017

Hank Hanegraaff in a video blog posted on May 15, 2017. | (Photo: BIBLE ANSWER MAN FACEBOOK VIDEO SCREENCAP) the article says
"Bible Answer Man" Hank Hanegraaff shared an update on his cancer: he has tumors throughout his entire body. When he heard that from doctors, the news hit him with the "force of a sledgehammer."

Still, the Christian Research Institute president and chairman said that he remains optimistic, and recalled how one Christian woman with the same condition told him she felt intimately closer to Christ like never before.

Hanegraaff, who earlier in May said that he has mantle cell lymphoma, a rare form of cancer that will require aggressive chemotherapy, explained that he was traveling in a car in New York, when he received a call from his doctor.

"He told me that I had tumors throughout my entire body. He started talking about tumors in my neck, under my arm pits, in my lungs, in my stomach. The more he talked, the more vacant I felt. At the time I had no frame of reference whatsoever what it meant," the "Bible Answer Man" said in a Facebook video on Monday.

"It hit me with the force of a sledgehammer — how could that be possible, when I got my physical a month ago" and such tumors were not discussed, he asked.

"Now the reality is really setting in for me."

Hanegraaff noted that his doctor warned him that he has a rough road ahead battling the cancer, but told him that it's not "the end of the world."

The CRI president thanked all the believers who have been praying for him and sending him encouragement, and detailed the biggest source of encouragement he has received so far, in the form of an elderly woman at church with a similar experience.

Hanegraaff revealed that the church lady, who takes care of 10 special needs children, told him that once she was in the exact same situation, and had to undergo intense chemotherapy after she was diagnosed in her late 60s."

On Mother's Day on Sunday, the woman celebrated her 10th anniversary of being in remission, however, and told him that the most important "C" in "cancer" is Jesus Christ.

"She told me something I never thought I'd hear from someone who has mantle cell lymphoma: 'Hank, I would not replace my experience. It was tough, but I would not replace it for anything. In fact, I would go through it all over again,'" Hanegraaff recalled her saying.

What is more, she told him that she had found an intimacy with Christ that she had "never experienced before."

The "Bible Answer Man" said: "I have optimism in my heart at this point, that God will give me years to continue to do His work," adding that he does not want to waste any moment.

Earlier in May, when revealing the initial news of his cancer, Hanegraaff said that he places his trust in God's hands whatever happens, and that he has been "enveloped in peace" despite the diagnosis.

"Obviously, finding that you have cancer is a blow to the solar plexus. It is a bitter pill to swallow. But all of that becomes very contextualized when you recognize that our dear Lord holds every breath and every moment of my life in His hand," he said."

We should Not feel sorry for Hank,
We should Not have any Compassion for him, since he shows no Compassion for Israel and Jews. His Cancer is
Probably God Punishing him for his Anti-Semitism and Bigotry,
God cursing Hank , as described in the Bible verse Genesis 12:3 which describes Blessings and Curses,
Hank is a Loser and a False Prophet, the "Bible Answer Man" is a male, but he definitely isn't a man, he doesn't even have the decency to respond to those who challenge his false beliefs, he just ignores them. Such a Creep

"Hard Questions for the Bible Answer Man: Hank Hanegraaff and his takeover of the Christian Research Institute" by Jay Howard Published in 2009
The description of the book from
Amazon.com says
"Hank Hanegraaff has been president of the Christian Research Institute since 1989. He is credited with authoring several books and also has been the host of The Bible Answer Man radio program. However, over the last few years a great deal of evidence has been unearthed to indicate that Hanegraaff's presidency is laced with multiple problems that need to be examined. In this ground-breaking book Jay Howard discusses many issues that show a blatant disregard for truth by the current CRI president. These and many more questions will be dealt with in the pages of Hard Questions for The Bible Answer Man: • Was Hanegraaff really Walter Martin's "handpicked-successor"? • Did Walter Martin's widow plan to endorse him, as the next CRI president, during the funeral? • Is it really necessary for a president of a Christian nonprofit organization to make over $250,000 a year? • Why did he fire so many key people after he took over in 1989? • Was he equipped to take over The Bible Answer Man program in 1991? • Why did CRI buy him a $66,000 Lexus sports car in 2004 while they were laying off staff? • Did the post office in Rancho Santa Margarita really misdirect CRI's mail for three months at the end of 2004? • Is his Personal Witness Training manual a plagiarism of Evangelism Explosion by D. James Kennedy? • Why does he need to live in a one million dollar house in a gated community in North Carolina?" Hank Hanegraaff is such a Fraud

The Internet
"EXCERPT: Recently, we have been hearing repeated messages that Jesus was a Palestinian.

It is bad enough when devious Arab Islamic leaders, including Holocaust-denier Mahmoud Abbas, leader of the Palestinian Authority, quoted Jesus at Christmas time as “a Palestinian messenger,” but it is something completely different when church leaders call Jesus a Palestinian.

They know its lie, and yet they subscribe to this mantra. It leads one to question why they do it. Why do they go out of their way to deny the undeniable Jewishness of Jesus according to their own biblical commentaries? There can only be one inevitable conclusion. It’s anti-Semitism.

It was anti-Semitism that fed the brutal dogma that expelled and killed millions of Jews as European Christianity pursued Jews around the globe. It was anti-Semitism at the heart of replacement theology that positioned God as having abandoned His Covenant to the Jewish people in favor of Christians. It is anti-Semitism that drives Christian leaders to abandon the Old Testament narration of a return to Zion of the Jewish people in favor of promoting the notorious Kairos Palestine Document. This document positions Palestinian Arabs as Jesus-figures deprived of their land, and Israelis as the Christ-killers. This blood libel is alive and well. It has shaken off the Christian shame of the Holocaust, and found its voice in anti-Zionism.

Deconstructing the history of the Land of Israel in order to deny Jewish sovereignty is central to Palestinian policy. This narrative has been adopted by many Christians who have found a moral hook on which to hang their anti-Semitism, namely the transfiguration of who are the violent and devious actors and who are the victims. Clearly, they have repositioned Israelis and Jews as the oppressors, and a Palestinian society -- despite it being one that has been incited and bent on racial hatred, violence, and terror -- as the innocent victims.

It is truly appalling how cynically deceptive some Christian leaders can be. They come up with causes that elicit emotional but false messages. Take “Christ at the Checkpoint,” for example. This is the name of a conference taking place in Bethlehem this week. Christians will try to portray Jesus as a Palestinian suffering at an Israeli check post. The poster of the event, from March 10-14, is headed by a drawing depicting an Arab farmer and a church locked behind a huge grey concrete wall. In support of the Palestinian narrative it carries the message “Your Kingdom Come.”

Respond to the portrayal of Jesus at a checkpoint, Israeli soldiers would remind Jesus, as a Jew, that no Jew is allowed to live in a Bethlehem under Palestinian control, and his life would be in grave danger in a place that has become so radically Islamic that even the Christians have fled this once Christian town. Elias Freij, the Christian mayor of Bethlehem at the time of the town’s handover by Israel to Arafat’s PLO, correctly prophesized that Bethlehem would be a town of churches but no Christians.

Participants at this event should be reminded that Israeli security forces arrested fourteen members of Islamic Jihad based in Bethlehem last Christmas. During their search, they found weapons and explosives in the houses of the Bethlehem terrorists. At precisely the same time, the rector of London’s St. James’s Church, was organizing, at her church, a propaganda event called “Bethlehem Unwrapped.” In a Guardian newspaper article, said she was supporting a “beautiful resistance.” There was nothing “beautiful” in the blowing up of the bus near Tel Aviv that these Bethlehem-based Islamic terrorists attacked. Neither should churches be supporting such “resistance,” known to Israelis as terror attacks. This though is the campaign and cause that people like Rector Lucy Winkett, the British Methodists, and “Christ at the Checkpoint” Christians promote, while hiding the truth of what is actually going on here."

"Irrational ire invoked at Israel"
Op-ed: No other nation or people have engendered such a plethora of movements, organizations and views obsessed with boycotting it, dividing it up or destroying it altogether.
Dan Calic|Published: 03.09.14 This article says

"With the "peace process" as an ever present backdrop, I pose the following questions: Why are so many people telling Israel what it should and shouldn’t do? What business is it of theirs? Why can’t Jews have a homeland absent of international criticism? There is a fundamental misappropriation of justice at work here.

From a purely practical perspective, it’s difficult to fathom why this tiny country is the center of so much attention. Sadly however, when it comes to the Jews and Israel, history confirms the untypical becomes typical, which contributes to making them unique among the people and nations of the world. A uniqueness which can be a blessing… and in many cases a curse.

For example, they are history’s only people and nation to reappear in their original home after almost two thousand years of disbursement. They are central to the most read book in history – the Bible. A Jew named Jesus who lived and taught there became the messiah to over two billion people. Another 1.5 billion followers of Muḥammad believe he ascended to heaven from there.

Indeed some, if not the most significant event(s) in history have taken place in Israel, with potentially more to come. Thus, this tiny piece of land and its people have become embroiled in controversy which touches one of our most flashpoint issues- what we believe, and said manifestations. Such issues are core to how millions of people define themselves and the purpose of their lives. They invoke passions which cause people to act in ways from the benign to the most bizarre, including murder "in the name of…."

History’s unwelcome scapegoat
Consequently, Jews have often been history’s unwelcome scapegoat. Some say they're responsible for the death of Jesus. This helped spawn supersessionism, or replacement theology, which suggests the Jews have been abandoned by God and replaced by the "Church" for rejecting Jesus. This is essentially a theological form of anti-Semitism, and is embraced by a sizeable percentage of Christians. Couple this with the goal of fundamental Islam which is to destroy the Jews, and you have two huge components of why they and Israel have become targets of hateful movements worldwide."

The ynetnews.com article continues
"Some say anti-Semitism is passé. I suggest such people are either naïve, lack a fundamental understanding of it, or might be anti-Semitic themselves. Today it’s simply cloaked behind a variety of masks. For example, how often have you heard it said "Jews are okay, the problem is Zionists." In other words, as long as Jews are scattered, or a minority, they’re acceptable. However, having a state where they are the majority invokes accusations of "racism," or "apartheid." Are similar accusations made against any Muslim nations? Heaven forbid.

No other nation or people have engendered such a plethora of movements, organizations and views, covering political, economic, cultural and theological spectrums, obsessed with boycotting it, dividing it up or destroying it altogether.

Consider these few and their goals:

UNRWA (United Nations Relief Works Agency) – They run schools and children’s summer camps in the Gaza Strip and Judea/Samaria. Documentary film shows children being taught all of Israel is "occupied Palestine," and needs to be retaken by jihad.
UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council) – Since 2006 it has passed over 33 resolutions critical of Israel. No more than one has been passed against any other nation. Israel is the only nation on their permanent agenda.
BDS Movement - An international effort aimed at crippling Israel’s economy by "boycotting" its products, "divesting" financial interests, and implementing "sanctions" against the Jewish state.
Israel Apartheid Week – A global series of events held in cities and on college campuses, seeking to vilify Israel as a racist state.
World Council of Churches – An umbrella organization of more than 500 million from mainstream Christian denominations targeting Christian Zionism. Their goal is to delegitimize Israel’s right to protect itself from terrorism. They promote the "Palestinian" church and consider the "occupation" as the root problem, instead of terrorism and the rejection of Israel’s right to exist.
Christ at the Checkpoint Conference – A series of conferences at Bethlehem Bible College attended by hundreds of international Christian leaders. Its focus is to discredit Christian support for Israel. Jesus is portrayed as a "Palestinian," who if alive today would stand with them against Israel.
Palestinian mythology – Initiated by Yasser Arafat, this is the renaming of select Arabs as "Palestinians," in order to manufacture a unique ethnic and cultural heritage, aimed at delegitimizing documented historical evidence surrounding the birth of modern Israel, and the subsequent plight of so-called "refugees."
Iran , Hamas , Hezbollah axis – Mother country of terrorism and its proxies, each acting in accordance with fundamental Islam’s principles which include Israel’s destruction.
PLO, Fatah charters – Each of these groups have charters requiring destruction of the entire state of Israel to be replaced by a single Muslim state of "Palestine."

Add the aforementioned replacement theology and is it any wonder the tiny nation of Israel and the Jewish people are the object of irrational international ire which is based on prejudice and fabrication.

These organizations and views exemplify "if you tell a lie often enough people will think it’s true."

Sometimes I wonder how Israel’s enemies would feel if they were prevented from using technology such as cell phones, computer chips, instant messaging, etc. – all of which originated in the Jewish state."

"EXCERPT: Summary: “Christ at the Checkpoint” (CatC) is a biennial conference sponsored by the Bethlehem Bible College since 2010. The conference claims to be “theology in the service of peace and justice” but its true purpose is to fundamentally change the way that Evangelicals in the West read the Bible in order to fundamentally change their political stand regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict-and through them, to affect their political leaders. Instead of reading the Bible in its historical and cultural context in order to understand what the inspired prophets and apostles communicated as the Word of God, organizers of CatC want us to read the Scriptures only “in the shadow of the occupation”, that is, filtered through the Palestinian Arab’s POV and political aspirations. The result is “theology” divorced from God’s originally intended meaning; “theology” as clay reformed in the CatC potter’s hand to serve a one-sided, anti-Israel Palestinian political program.

POSITION PAPER:

1.The Word of God: the Tanakh and the New Covenant Scriptures together, are the one true, infallible, and unalterable standard of truth and life for all believers. As Yeshua our Messiah declared, “Your Word is truth” (John 17:17) and “The Scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:35). Therefore we affirm that “all the promises of God are ‘Yes’” and ‘Amen’ (not abrogated) in Yeshua (II Cor. 1:20), and that “the gifts and calling of God” for His chosen people, Israel, “are irrevocable” (Romans 11:28b-29 in context). “God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew!” (Romans 11:2). Rather, “to them belong [present tense!] the adoption as sons, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple worship, and the promises” (Romans 9:4).

2.The Messiah Yeshua’s calling for His Body -- in the Land of Israel and throughout the world -- is to “make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19) by proclaiming “repentance for the forgiveness of sins…in His name to all nations” (Luke 24:47). Every movement or activity which does not promote or which, on the contrary, distracts us from that central purpose and calling is not of God, no matter what biblical or spiritual language may be used to describe it. Yeshua never commanded, or even suggested, that His followers were to “bring in” the Kingdom of God on earth. Yeshua Himself promised to establish His Kingdom upon His return (Matthew 25:31, 34), and we, who are heirs of His Kingdom and proclaimers of it in the present age (James 2:5; Acts 28:23, 31), are instructed to pray for that day to quickly come (Matthew 6:10; cf. Philippians 3:20-21).

3.Christ at the Checkpoint is, therefore, a false messianic movement, arrogating to itself the role of Messiah in establishing the Kingdom while promoting a humanistic, political “liberation theology.” [All the “evangelical” CatC speakers reflect the same approach and goals, as is evident from the Kairos Documentwhich Yohanna Katanacho, CatC Committee member, helped compose and Bethlehem Bible College endorsed]. Although cloaking its “mandate” in biblical language (“the teaching of Jesus on the Kingdom of God”) and using seductively positive terms (“Peace, justice, and reconciliation”), this movement has one overriding purpose: to sway Evangelical believers worldwide away from belief in the eternal promises of God to Israel by slandering the Jewish people and delegitimizing the Jewish state; painting Israel as a wicked, oppressive, apartheid “entity”—especially in contrast to the supposedly ‘democratic, tolerant and peace-seeking’ Palestinian Authority and people. There is no Gospel here!"

Anonymous said...

The comment continues
"4.Christ at the Checkpoint is a partisan political movement, willingly acting as public relations spokesmen for the Palestinian Authority to the Evangelical world. The CatC 2012 keynote speech by then Prime Minister of the PA, Saleem Fayad, demonstrated the one-sided and political nature of this conference. In 2014, CatC will open “under the Patronage and Presence” of Dr. Rami Hamdallah, Prime Minister of Palestine. As president of Al-Najah University, in 2001 Hamdallah sponsored an exhibition glorifying terrorism, including a reconstruction of the Sbarro Restaurant massacre in Jerusalem. By welcoming the patronage of one who glorifies terror, CatC has lost any claim to morality, not to mention objectivity. All claims to be an Evangelical movement for peace, justice and reconciliation are exposed as false propaganda.

CatC speakers and “testimonials” consistently demonize Israel, while they absolutely refuse to condemn, or even mention, the repression of Evangelical churches and systemic human rights abuses by the Palestinian Authority and their outrageous financial corruption—all of which have been documented and which are recognized even by Israel’s critics in the European Union. While the “nefarious evils” of the “Israeli occupation” are trumpeted incessantly, and carefully selective guided tours are offered to mislead naïve participants, CatC speakers make no mention of the hundreds of Palestinian terror attacks and thousands of Israeli terror victims which necessitated the security fence, for example. Such inconvenient facts are summarily dismissed as beside the point.

5.CatC deliberately misleads their Evangelical brethren in the world by intentionally misrepresenting the two sides of the Middle East conflict. CatC organizers and speakers like Sami and Alex Awad and Mitri Raheb crisscross the world, calling on Evangelical Christians to stand up for “their Christian brethren in Palestine” who are being terrorized by the Israeli occupation. In so doing, these self-proclaimed Evangelicals are falsely portraying the conflict as a war of the Jews against the Christians. Their use of the image of Jesus as a Palestinian being “crucified” on the “apartheid wall” by the Jews recalls the age-old anti-Semitic blood-libel. The fact is that “Evangelical Palestinians” make up less than 0.1% of the population in the West Bank and Gaza; with 95-98% being Moslems and the remaining 2-5% being predominantly Roman Catholic or Orthodox Church members. Western Evangelicals are intentionally and deceitfully led to believe a lie."

Anonymous said...

The comment lastly says
"6.The organizers of CatC have as their final goal the end of the Jewish state and its replacement with a single, multinational “Palestine.” This is also the purpose of the BDS campaign against Israel, which is strongly supported by CatC organizers and speakers (see CatC website links to Kairos Palestine “Bethlehem Call” document there). While ostensibly eschewing violence as the means to this end, and expressing willingness to accept a “two-state solution” as an interim measure, the dissolution of Israel is nonetheless the actual result which they promote (see Alex Awad interview). Awad and Stephen Sizer participated—along with Hezbollah and Hamas representatives--in the 2008 Voice of Palestine Naqba conference in Indonesia where the one state solution was one of the four objectives.

This “one-state solution” echoes the Palestinian Authority’s refusal to acknowledge any Jewish right to an independent national existence in the Land of Israel (that is, Zionism), while at the same time demanding that same right of “self-determination” for the “Palestinians.” CatC’s unequivocal, hypocritical condemnation of Zionism, Christian or otherwise, is therefore inherently racist.

7.Messianic Jews and Evangelical Christians should have nothing to do with a false messianic, partisan political movement which turns a blind eye to terror and misleads Evangelicals in order to promote the destruction of the Jewish state in the Land of Israel. These false teachers are like those from which the apostle Paul warned the believers in Rome: “…by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting” (Romans 16:18). And what did he call us to do? “Keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.” (Romans 16:17).

We call on all those who follow the Messiah Yeshua truly and submit to His Word faithfully to join us in publicly rejecting the CatC agenda and refusing to lend legitimacy to its activities in any way."

"Arafat always reminded me of a really ugly snake. This is the same guy that walked away from U.S. sponsored negotiations after being offered almost all of what the Palestinians were demanding for their state. (frankly, I have never heard of any loser of a military conflict 'demand' anything fro the victor. usually the victor dictates terms) and told Ehud Barak 'go to hell' and the second 'intifafda' was born. As far as Rev. Stephen Sizer, the man is a rabid and vicious anti-semite. I pronounce no judgement on him, this is the prerogative of the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. I pray that God will turn this man's heart towards the truth."

on December 6, 2022
A Tribunal for the Church of England found Stephen Sizer guilty of Anti-Semitism, Plus on December 16, 2022 a person on Facebook said about Sizer
"on Stephen Sizer:

Two issues.

One. How should we understand behaviour that "provokes" and "offends" the Jewish community? Or behaviour that is "unbecoming"?

Provocation is a strong term. Imagine you were found, over many decades, to have indulged in behaviour that "provoked" and "offended" the black community. What kind of behaviour could provoke the collectivity of black people, given that black people are diverse in every characteristic except for the way they are racialized in our society. In every sense, the word "community" is a bit euphemistic, except for the sense meaning the community that is subjected to racism.

Imagine further that the Church had thousands of years of history in "provoking" and "offending" the black community. That would be an exacerbating factor, right?

And imagine that the offence and the provocations were so serious that they constituted "conduct unbecoming"? Which, I take to mean, conduct that is so seriously inappropriate that it could have him disqualified from his office.

And imagine further that he was also found guilty of a case of racism that was so clear and explicit that even an incredibly careful tribunal was prepared to be clear on it.

The second issue, I think, requires you not only to look at the tribunal judgement but also to look at what it judged. The Board of Deputies, a representative body of British Jews, thought that the "provocations" and "offences" were so seriously antisemitic that it went to the trouble and the risk of taking him to a Church court.

Further, look at the counts yourself. You can, yourself, make a judgement about whether his anti-Jewish provocations and offences were antisemitic. What do you think?

The key element of Sizer's antisemitism is the doubling down, the digging in, and the counter-accusations made against Jews who accused him.

Whereas the Tribunal and the Board of Deputies, and James, and me - whereas we are all very careful not to impute "nature" or "motive" onto Sizer, he is by no means as careful in his counter-accusation. His only defence is that "Zionists" - by which he means Jews who find something to celebrate in the survival and re-birth of Jewish life in Israel after the ethnic cleansing at the hands of Arab Nationalism and Islamism, after the experience of murderous Soviet antizionism for decades, and after the experience of the Shoah - Sizer says that Zionists are pretending to experience antisemitism in a dishonest conspiracy to try and brand criticism of Israel as antisemitic.

And notice, in passing, that the Zionism that Sizer demonizes was itself at least in part a desperate response to antisemitism that at least in part the Church is responsible for.

Macpherson said that if somebody says they have experienced racism, you should take them seriously.

Sizer says that if "Zionists" or "Zionist Jews" experience antisemitism, then you should assume that they are racist, imperialist, pro-apartheid, lying propagandists - "the people in the shadows".

Sizer imputes bad faith onto the Jews who "cry antisemitism" - and not just individual bad faith, not just the odd bad apple Jew, but collective Jewish bad faith. He says it's their "Zionist nature" and their Zionist "motivation" that leads them to such organised dishonesty.

The EHRC report on Labour antisemitism was very clear on this point. The baseless, evidence-free but incontinent allegations of "weaponization", "smearing", "faking" - it itself constitutes antisemitic harassment of Jews."

Rev Sizer would have been bad enough if he had got lawyers to write letters to Seismic and his service provider in order to shut him up. Getting the police involved and then using them as a threat to shut up other bloggers about his political activities is how a cowardly louse behaves, and it’s outrageous that the police didn’t tell him that that wasn’t their job to harass bloggers.

Seismic seems unsure of his rights in this case. It is evident that this government has extended the powers of the police, the police are taking advantage of it, and getting into the mindset where they poke around blogs for speech and writing crimes. Using the anti-terrorism laws, they have been stopping and searching photographers for taking photographs. Photographers held a mass demonstration against this yesterday."

"My wife Joanna died peacefully in Southampton University Hospital in the early morning of last Saturday surrounded by family. Joanna was first diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer seven years ago and then a brain tumour three years ago.

Joanna’s faith in the Lord Jesus Christ gave her the strength and courage to persevere and she has been such an inspiration to family and friends.

We invite you to attend a Service of Thanksgiving celebrating Joanna’s life on Tuesday 6th August at Christ Church, Virginia Water, GU25 4LD. If distance prohibits your attendance in person, the service will be live-streamed. The link will be posted here a day or two before.

Joanna was active in supporting refugees and asylum seekers. She also greatly valued the work of Maggies caring for those with cancer. If you wish to make a donation in her memory, you may do so here:

Thank you in anticipation of your condolences. I am sure you will appreciate I will not necessarily be able to acknowledge them, nor answer any questions at this time. Thank you for your prayers and understanding."
Was Joanna Sizer a Vile
Anti-Semite, Jew-Hater, Liar & Anti-Israel Bigot like Stephen Sizer is
Could it be that
God allowed Joanna Sizer to pass away to Punish
Stephen Sizer for His Lies,
For his Lies, Hate, Hypocrisy, Double Standards against the Jewish people and Israel
That God allowed Joanna to get sick and pass away because of
Stephen Sizer's Anti-Israel Lies
Hate, Incitement, Hypocrisy
Could it be that God Was Punishing Stephen for being a Vile Anti-Semite , Jew-Hater
Liar, Troublemaker, Heretic , False Prophet, Blasphemer and for his unjust Hatred Towards Israel and the Jewish people
That Stephen brought this upon himself, that the death of
Joanna Sizer was because of
Stephen's LIES and Anti-Israel, Anti-Jewish Hatred
Could it be that
Stephen Sizer's Sin of
Jew-Hatred, Anti-Israel Hatred really Ticked God off big time
God is Pro-Israel and
Pro-Jewish
That's a FACT

Stephen Sizer posted on his
Facebook page
“Netanyahu sought to draw similarities of the October 7th attack with the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. “That is like 20 9/11s in one day,” he said, describing in lurid detail the attack on Israel, noting how only 135 of 255 hostages have been brought home.”

True - Palestinian casualties in Gaza exceeds 20 9/11’s.

“This is not a clash of civilizations,” Netanyahu said. “This is a clash between barbarism and civilization.”

True - but the barbarism is being inflicted by Israel on a civilised Palestine."

Dr. Michael L. Brown typed on
Facebook about
Stephen Sizer
"Rev. Sizer, what you have posted, comparing Israel with ISIS, is obscene, dishonest, and deplorable. The Lord rebuke you, expose your error, and grant you repentance. (A few hours after this was posted, Rev. Sizer posted this comment, "There are obviously BIG differences between Israel and ISIS -- but I wanted to know what you thought." All the more does this underscore the deplorable nature of his post, especially coming after the beheading of the American journalist by ISIS. It would be very wrong if I said, "What is the difference between Hitler and Rev. Sizer?" -- then said, "Yes, there are BIG differences, but I wanted to get your thoughts." What Rev. Sizer has done is terribly ugly and he should renounce it with deep repentance.)"

Also About Stephen Sizer
In terms of Personality, many people have said
Sizer is very much like the character of Vernon Fenwick from the Classic
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon series which ran from
1987-1996
A website says regarding
Vernon Fenwick from the 1987-1996
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series
"Vernon was one of the wimpiest, most pathetic characters in the history of television. Created to be a work-rival for April O’Neil, Vernon had a spindly body, a giant nose, and a nasal, whiny-ass voice. Basically a scheming douchebag, Vernon was also a giant coward and incompetent at his job. Generally speaking, he would try to “scoop” his co-worker, and would occasionally conspire with Burne (who didn’t like ANY of his employees) towards the same means. Even on the rare occasions when he does something semi-competent or courageous (such as filming the brawl between Leatherhead and the Rat King), his pride and stupidity become his undoing- he leaves the CAP ON. The classic “stupid cameraman” trick… though hilariously, one of my would-be photographer friends did that on a zoo trip one time. We had to backtrack all over the place!

-Vernon & Burne were actually a very big part of the cartoon- having some human cast-members was kind of a necessity for any show about superheroes or mutants or whatever, and they were pretty good foils. It was always amusing to see them humiliated. "
Burne refers to
Burne Thompson the Boss at Channel 6 News
Wikipedia says the character of Vernon Fenwick on the
1987-1996 Ninja Turtles series was an
"egotistical, selfish, opportunistic , cowardly cameraman"
These Pathetic Traits describe
Stephen Sizer perfectly
Other people have said Sizer is also like the Ugly Nerd
mad scientist Baxter Stockman from the 1987-1996
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series , that Sizer in terms of looks and personality is also like
Baxter Stockman in his Nerd human form years before he turned into the Mutant Fly later on in the series 😆😂
Sizer is a herb, Poindexter, dork
